Originally we ordered the couch to be against the slanted wall with the tv in the middle. But then realized the reverse was better. Sadly can’t modify the custom couch.

Need more photos, but can you place the tv on the piano wall and vice versa?

I am really not seeing the problem the sofa faces the TV the TV is at the proper viweing height I love where the piano is and BTW you need solar shades on those windows or the finish on your piano will be garbage very quickly.

Good to know this is not a massive design faux pas. To me it looked quite wrong. Especially since the space on the shorter side is now wasted.

It would feel more welcoming if the longer side were on the windows. You cannot flip the room and place the piano where the sectional is?

I would turn the piano around so that the sound opens into the room, rather than being bounced off the window and wall.

CDR, I had not considered it, but the dining table is next to the piano and then there is the kitchen. So there would not be enough space.

It looks fine to me. Can you get it off the wall and push it back towards the piano? And move the tv and and console to center it.

I think it looks fine too and I would also suggest turning the piano to face into the room. Better than facing a wall you will be able to see others in the room and play to them not have your back to them.

Suzyq53, is that better to have the gap there? I don’t know what is best practice from design perspective. We do have enough space to “float” it in the middle of the room if needed

Yes if you have room, I'd definitely float it. It will look much nicer. You don't need a full walkway there but a couple of feet off the wall. You might like a arched floor lamp at the corner if you read on the sofa.

Float the sofa. A small arced lamp on short side; something that won’t compete with the hanging lights. And add a C-table on that end for a drink. You may want get one in the other side too, especially if you will not have a coffee table. Flip the piano around. Your table, style-wise, seems a little out of place but may be fine with right chairs. Lovely space

I'd consider moving the dining table to butt up to the kitchen counter. Then move the sectional to the piano area and move piano to where sectional is now.

Thanks all, makes a lot of sense. Table is a cheap POS from our first apartment. We are looking to replace it. Any inspirations that would match this interior are much appreciated. The coffee table and the tv stand are in grey tones, so should I look to stay close to that?
