My mistake, selected the wrong photo. This is actually metallica San Remo, which loses the beautiful yellow color over some months. Metallica variegata's similar color and pattern doesn't fade.

That’s a beautiful plant Russ. It looks a lot like a couple of new varieties. Lauren and Yellowstone. Have you seen these or heard about them? When I got mine, they looked and felt like metallica to me. A soft leaf, very waxy feel. The parent of one of them is Jaboa. Not sure if that one is a metallica

Btw, my San Remo has done well, some of the new leaves are striped and some are solid yellow.

Could be, if you have info making you go with guineensis rather than trifasciata Craigii, which looks identical in pictures. I received my original plant from old-time collector Alice Waidhofer of Stockton Calif in 1998 labeled Futura Aurea. It looked more like trifasciata Craigii to me, so I propagated some leaves and resulting plants were guineensis rather than trifasciata. So it has to be guineensis variegata.

Here are pics of my plants to compare with yours. These are two separate 6" pots. Don't know if the greenish leaf in last pic is old or new.

Barb, I've just recently heard about Lauren and Yellowstone and only seen a few pics. Regarding Jaboa, that name seems to be made-up and it's actually the species aubrytiana. Renaming of established plants is common these days, especially when they come from other countries. I think Siam Silver is just a renaming of Manolyn, I see no difference in them including susceptibility to rust.

Great news that your San Remo is thriving, it seems to be a tough sans and rhizomes in pots usually survive my short overnight freezes. New leaves are always stunning, some of mine have reached 3 feet so far. Really too bad they fade, even if it takes quite a while.
