Favorite bedsheets?

What are your favorite bedsheets? I prefer something soft, but not fleece or flannel. Any suggestions?

Soft? Hmmmm. Hotel style 100% cotton are soft and fairly thick. I prefer percale. So smooth, finely woven and cool. Preferable hung on the clothesline for that wonderful clean smell.

Linen. Nothing else makes it to our bed. We alternate between brands like Parachute, Cultiver and Magic Linen.

If you haven't slept in linen, treat yourself.

Sferra is my favorite brand, then Matouk runs a close second. I also gotten some good sheets from Frontgate.

I went in search of sheets with the help from folks here and I learned it's very personal in terms of what one is looking for...and I think it's also a function of environment. I found I like crisper sheets in summer, softer ones in winter. While I never found what I was really looking for, I find I like these best and they weren't expensive either...

    Macy's Damask Supima Cotton Sheets

What I was looking for and never found was a sheet set that is as soft as the covers on some down comforters...

I also spent major bucks on a set, had to alter them and they always look awful as they need ironing, I won't iron sheets and I certainly won't pay to have them pressed, so I just deal with it.

Comphy brand is best! The sheets are luxuriously soft. We used to have to have an innkeeper order them for us, but now they are available online to the general public.

Egyptian combed cotton 400 TC and up.
If you can afford what you want the brand Frette is one of the very best.
Don’t be fooled with Micro Fibre or bamboo or polyester blends.
Most linens from Portugal or Turkey or Egypt are normally a better quality.

I own cotton damask, they're heavy and they wrinkle. I own percale, they're crisp, slight wrinkles. I also own fleece & flannel. This house is too hot for those. No drafty windows like the last house. 14 windows in that bedroom alone!. :0)

Last year I tried microfiber for the 1st time. Light weight. Does NOT weight my feet down. Super soft. No wrinkles, as in Zero. These are my new favorites!

These are the best sheets I have ever bought. Made in the USA all the way by a family owned and operated company in Alabama. Red Land Cotton. Pricey but so worth it, and I waited for their 20% off sales.

Boll & Branch or Brooklinen are both nice.

I found some at Macy’s that I like but I have one old sheet that I just love and have never been able to duplicate. The sheet I love is thicker than most and a little crisp. The tags fell off long ago, so I will never know what it is. The worst sheets I ever bought were from LL Bean. They were advertised as crisp but actually they kind of crackle when moved. Very annoying. Also the edge of the top sheet and pillowcases have an embroidered design that scratches your face.

I am also a person who likes different sheets for different seasons. Crisp in Summer. Soft in the Winter. We used to buy flannel sheets but after a couple of washings they pilled to bad.

Not a sheet but yesterday I was at wally world and saw a weighted blanket. Mentally I can not wrap my mind around a light weight blanket being made heavy so that someone feels "enclosed in comfort". Just put more blankets on the bed and turn the heat down. One of those "someone is listening things". This morning the ad from BB&B showed the two types of weighted blankets.

Linen. Mine are from Rough Linen.

I purchased a set of Target’s Joanna Gaines’ (don’t know the actual make) and love them. Very deep, all cotton that’s soft but not a sateen or a crisp percale. These wash beautifully and are a phenomenal value but for the limited pattern/color selection.

Matouk, Frette, White Company, are in my linen closet now. I am going to buy some of the Red Land ones.

I don't have a favorite - I buy what's on sale, usually from places like Home Goods or TJ Maxx but also Macy's, as they have excellent sales.

I like flannel sheets for winter too. Soft and very cozy and I find the better named brands hold up better and with less pilling than the cheaper ones. My faves of those are the Martha Stewart brand and I still use those I purchased (both on sale and with an employee discount) years back when I worked as Christmas help.

I am much pickier about pillow covers than I am with sheets. But since I mix and match when I dress my bed, it all works out :-) I don't care for flannel pillowslips even though I love flannel sheets!

Zalco, let me know what you think of them. I have a queen and king set of the classic hemstitch. I recently bought a baby quilt for my pregnant niece. The family story is wonderful. Anna spoke to our Garden Guild last year and we really enjoyed hearing her speak. They have revitalized mills in Texas and Georgia and I think South Carolina involved in different aspects of the business.

I’ve been buying from Sams Club. They are so easy to make the bed. Love the pockets on the fitted sheets. Not too deep, just right.

I love my Pratesi Italian-made 100% cotton sheets. They were expensive to buy but I’ve had them for almost 10 years; they still look and feel as good as they did when they were brand new. I have two sets that I alternate on our bed.

I also have a set of Frette sheets for the guest room and they are good, just not quite as nice as the Pratesi ones.

Will do Outside. Thank you so much for mentioning them. I love their story.

I use flannel in the winter and 100% cotton or linen in the summer and spring and fall. Though this year the flannel came out much sooner than usual as we had very crisp cold days early on in the fall season. I purchase Martha Stewart and TJ Maxx at times.

I also add Merino wool under my flannel sheets. I get cold easily. Plus synthetic materials bother me so the more natural things between me and the synthetic cover and fillings of the bed the better

I seem to have less problem with pilling if I use Tide.

I love my flannel sheets, next would be fleece. Microfiber isn't bad then there are the tee-shirt knit sheets. I just don't like the knit top sheet, it seems to slide down.

Authenticity 50 sheets have a great reputation and story. Made in USA of home grown Supima cotton. We have a set of their percale for the grandkids bed. We prefer linen, wrinkles and all. Linen is comfy during all four seasons.

Cotton percale. Martha Stewart has 400 thread count at a reasonable cost. This is the closest I can find to the no-iron Wamsutta percales we loved fifty years ago. Yes, I iron these. It takes 15 minutes to do three cases and the top half of the top sheet once a week.

I've given away huge thread count sheets -- limp and heavy.

I love 100% cotton when they get to that velvety feel. I'll keep sheets past their "use by" date (ie hems raveling) because I love the way that they feel.

I love the high thread count 100% cotton wrinkle resistant sheets from Garnet Hill. Not cheap, but they come out of the dryer looking great, last and are so soft and smooth.

I prefer to buy organic sheets but the last set I bought (at Westelm,) was so thin--not sure how long they will last. I just hate the idea of all the chemicals used in processing the sheets and towels, as well.

    Believe it or not, IKEA.

I’ve always been very particular about my sheets, they have to be crisp, noisy and thick. No sateen, no combed or brushed or anything else they try to improve upon them with. I have been on the hunt for a year and a half to replace some sets and have not been able to find what I want, everything is so thin now it seems. I took the plunge and bought linen sheets...Oh my gosh...will never buy anything else.

We use simple jersey sheets. Like sleeping wrapped in an old t-shirt.

Another one who loves linen sheets. Mine are from The Company Store.

My favorite ones are the clean ones and are on my bed. I have a hard time making up the bed. I have no favorite brands.

If I may ask a question that's not too personal...I've never had flannel sheets. Does anyone who has them wear night clothes, and if so, do they get stuck? Even with cotton sheets, the legs on my pjs will ride up...I can't imagine what it would do with flannel.

Thanks for mentioning other brands here. I'm going to check out Matouk and White Company for some Christmas giving opportunities. My two married kids love our linens, but they won't spend their own money on it. :)

Flannel sheets and a flannel nightgown make it almost impossible to roll over.

I love my flannel sheets in the winter. It's heaven getting into a warm, cozy bed when it's 12 below and snowing outside. But Annie- yes, anything you wear would get wrapped up around you in flannel sheets. I don't wear night clothes.... ;)

Gardengal - I don't like flannel pillowcases either. So we share that weirdness. LOL. I use the same cotton pillowcases that get rotated through with the summer sheets. My pillowcases almost never match my sheets either.

I have gone to jersey sheets. I have found tho that buying ones with (about) 30 per cent polly (or other mix) is the way to go, as they don't shrink that way. I used to have three sets for each season, now I just have jersey for year round. saves lots of storage space also.

I still have flannel sheets in the linen closet, but haven't put them on the bed for the past 2 winters.

I need soft and cool. Garnet Hill's wrinkle resistant solid sateen fits that bill.

I just came home from vacation in Amalfi coast- Rivolta Carmignani are the sheets for me. Sold on line, soft and cool!

Sam's Club gets hotel sheets that are great, but they don't always have them in. They have very deep pockets and wide elastic, so they fit really well. Each set comes with four pillowcases. The cases have deep ends that turn under so none of the pillow is exposed. Everyone likes them so much that I keep giving them away and buying more.

I, too, have a difficult time knowing what sheets to buy. We just bought one set of Boll & Branch and they're very good. DH loves the feel, while I'd prefer a bit more "crisp". But the best part (for me) is that the fitted sheet stays on the bed rather than pulls off. No, we don't have a hugely deep mattress, but the bottom sheets are rarely satisfactory. No problem with the Boll & Branch.

For me, in addition to preferring crisp (but it's not a must-have), I get frustrated by the lack of width of sheets. I like to tuck sheets in on both sides. DH absolutely doesn't care and promptly pulls them out when he gets in. I like the sheets tucked in on my side, at least when I start. But "these days", sheets seem too narrow. We have a King, BTW.
