Do a Google image search for border stencils and see if anything appeals to you. I always liked vines with leaves that looked like hearts but there are so many fun designs that it's difficult to choose. Have fun. :-)

I would look at geometric patterns for a log cabin design. And my brain is mentally drawing it. A series of 90 degree angles forming open boxes, with a single line of stitching that does not cross itself.
