I am still “Kicking” Enjoying this cool weather in North TX. Still managing to find all the firewood I need this winter +. I’ll hope to be released with w full Neck Fusion after the 12 month’s evaluation in 2 months. I have found and harvested plenty Red Oak and Live Oak with help. A lot needs splitting but there is plenty in my 35 lb lifting limits. I have stayed away from my Electric and Gas Chain Saws. I have used my 14” Makita Chop Saw with Carbide Teeth Blade cutting 4-6” dia wood and below (from pre cut lengths by friends

I have the best “Group Of Friends” that I hope I will feel like fishing with again. One Good Trade Offs is splitting their wood with help on the half. Plus, Small Engine Repairs, Welding and Etc for some of their fish… My goal is to get a release with a full fusion to feel safe working Etc. To start Cutting and Splitting my Stock Friends have helped me Stock.

Last, is there a better blade to cut small Firewood with vs my 14” Carbide? Take Care and have a Restful Winter!

There have been several threads on gardenweb recently that mention or complain about missing or very slow appearing threads. Perhaps that was/is your issue. I hadn't noticed this thread until today and I look at gardenweb almost daily. Toolshed was one of my most read sites years ago and my gardenweb start link IS Toolshed. I admit that since it is very slow, I usually just blow past it on the way to something else, but I usually see that the same old thread is still at the top. I doubt I would miss seeing a new post for a week so it probably didn't appear for awhile.

I would probably be too lazy to change my chop saw blade, but if firewood was my main use (and I had an inexpensive one), I would probably change to a thin blade to limit sawdust. I used to cut short lengths for my wood shop stove on my band saw. I sure wouldn't try to move it to a more convenient cutting location though!
