What do you think we should use?

We had to replace this entire wall from window to end and the masonry fireplace was taken down. The windows had these MCM window screens on them and although we selected windows that were the same size, the screens no longer fit. Not sure if we should try to make the lattice screens fit some other way or go a completely different route but there's still at least one other window opposite this wall with the screen.

We are leaning towards MCM decor, but we have eclectic taste. These windows provide a ton of sunlight in this room now that the tall hemlocks outside were taken down which is awesome since it's getting cooler here in New England, but there's no AC in this addition circa 1965-1975, so an option to cover the windows in the summer is ideal. I like the Roman bamboo shade look but I just don't think it fits with these high windows.

First photo shows the wall with the screens and fireplace before we moved in. Second photo shows what it looks like now, before paint and furnishing. The radiator covers are white now. I regret some of the decisions made to get us here (window spacing, width of the tile under the pellet stove) but this is what I have to work with now. There's also a mantle above the pellet stove not shown.

While I know you can't use drapes on the entire window area because of the stove, I do think that 2 window panels would help ground the room. One on the very right of the right window, and one on the left side of the left one. I then think you could use the bamboo blinds under them, and it would look nice because the drapery panel would visually lower the window.

The inner edges of the windows overlap the pellet stove which isn't an issue in the summer except for the mantle. So the bamboo shades would do the light/sun filtering work and the drapes would be decorative? One long rod or two separate rods?

Yes, the drapes are just decorative to dress the window and to visually bring down the window height. The bamboo shades would do the light filtering. Two separate rods.

Measure the area between the top of the window and the ceiling. Add trim board all around the window that same width. Add plantation shutters to all windows in the room in the same wood finish or painted color..

Beneath the shutters add a wall to wall row of box shelves in the same wood finish or painted color. How tall the sides are would depend on what you intend to display on them -- how tall is your tallest book.

Make the two box shelves beneath the windows the same width as the windows. The rest of the shelf -- between the windows -- should be sized to create symmetry.

Such shelving could display family trophies and/or mementos and/or interesting wood boxes and/or a decorative colorful bowl and/or candy dish and/or even family photographs in matching frames. If there is a tv and/or game console in this room, the shelf could display media related items as well.
