Strange thing inside engine

Found this Briggs Quantum with the engine cover with filltube\dipstick removed. I noticed a "little" piece of something plastic where the fill tube goes. I pulled this "little" piece and kept fishing with pliers and a hook and this is what i fished out.

How would a latex glove get into an engine????

It was pretty brittle so i think it has been inside for quite a while.

It ran fine after removal and oil flush\fill.
