Prairie, I love the colors together! If any of the buds still out there have sepals down and showing color cut them now and bring them inside. They may still open in the house!

Thanks Seil - I'll take a look tomorrow. It's supposed to turn very cold Thursday night into Friday here. But I think there's only a few very small buds.

I'm really enjoying these. I had a number of Pope John Paul blooms that were coming in the house, one at a time, before those stopped all together. They were a treat in September. They are nice in a vase, because they open over a few days time and they get prettier and prettier and their fragrance is strong. I would stick my nose in them every time I'd walk past them. [g] Now these in November.

This was my first season with three of these roses and I'm eager to see what they will do next year.

Beverly is a delightful rose, love the fragrance and elegant blooms. That's nice to see it in bloom as the weather turns colder.

Krista, first year with Beverly. I like the foliage and the form of the shrub. The rose form itself and the buds are nice too. I didn't notice earlier in the season that the roses were very fragrant, but I had Pope John Paul to compare it to and that seems more fragrant. But this late rose has been very fragrant in the house. The only thing I didn't like about it was the color was blotchy all season. But this late rose, the color is a lot better. I am sure I read that someone here on the forums, said their first year they weren't that impressed with Beverly, but the second year and after it was very impressive. So I am looking forward to seeing what the second year will provide. My main reasons for selecting it was because it is reputed to be a healthy, no spray rose with fragrance and repeat bloom. So far so good.

Kathy, 'Prairie Sunrise' is a Buck Rose bred in the 1940s in Canada I believe. It is hardy, moderately fragrant with repeat bloom. I bought it from Pickering before they went out of business.

Gorgeous roses, so pretty! Mine stop blooming after the frost we had last wk.! Mine is purple and fragrant, It needs a new home getting lost by my lavender!

Seil, I found two more with buds with the sepals down and brought them in yesterday. So far, one looks like it's going to open but the other one, not so much. The one that is going to open was starting to open a little and the other despite the downturned sepals, was stil a pretty closed bud.

Just a quick note - the two buds I brought in took 3 days to open but they finally did. 'Beverly' was in a tight bud but the sepals were down. I didn't think that was going to open at all. And I brought in one bud of 'Julia Child' that was just starting to open. They are smaller and less full than any roses all season, but they are still fairly fragrant. But that's it - definitely the end of the roses for the season. It was 20 degrees on my back porch yesterday morning.
