If it's possible to have the counter edge flush with the pantry, then I would definitely do that! 1/2" overhang everywhere else sounds good to me.

You want to have consistent overhangs. You also want the overhangs at least as deep as the hardware so you don’t constantly snag your pants- especially if you are using edge pulls. In an ideal world I always bring the tall cabinet at least 1 1/2” forward but you seem too far along now especially since it requires an extended side panel. 80% of kitchens have the counter sticking past the face of pantry cabinets. It’s fine.

Like Hallet said. We try to have the pantry or panel stick out to cap the countertop end, but not alwys so.

Simply return the top edge past the rear wall 3/4" or so. It will look fine.
