Help with flooring/countertops

I want to replace my floors and countertops but get overwhelmed with all the choices. I decided to keep the wood cabinets because of the time and cost of having them painted. I’m trying to stay away from white flooring. I have 3 dogs, and the kitchen is the entry/exit from the backyard, so it always looks dirty. I think I want something like a white quartz for countertops with white subway tile backsplash.

Can anyone suggest something for the floor that won’t show as much dirt and not be too dark? Wood is not an option because I already have older hardwood floors.

I met with the contractor about removing the peninsula (advise I got from posting here). Any suggestions for the countertops?

Vinyl plank flooring. Nice ceiling feature. I would complement that. Just have a look : vinyl planks run the gamut of looks/colors/dimension. Bring some samples and you may see something to help you get closer to counter color too.

Have you looked at SPC (stone polymer composite) flooring? It comes in a number of colors and is both waterproof and fairly dog proof too.

I have similar stained medium tone cabinets as yours, and I replaced the previous floor which was off-white vinyl which I hated - and with two dogs in my house, it never looked clean. I went with a pale grey slate look porcelain tile and very happy with it. The variation in the grey is very good at concealing muddy paw prints etc. I love the color of a darker natural slate but like you I was worried it would be too dark.

Not everyone likes a hard tile surface in a kitchen, but I just use padded floor mats in the work zones. Tile is truly tough enough to stand up to my two rowdy dogs who like to chase each other around the house! But I believe you could achieve a similar look with some of the newer materials like LVP if you don’t want the harder feel of tile.

Nice kitchen. Feels very cozy. Love the ceiling.

Does the other floor(wood) touch the white tile? If yes, can we see it? The color?

I'll try to see whether you opened other treads and find more pics there if yes

    Meanwhile:

Porcelain or something like Marmoleum are probably easiest to take care of. Some stones too. Interesting suggestion above about SPC, need to look into it myself

I imagine something like light green gray, in terms of color.

I like white/off-white Quartz direction for the countertops. Can be also Corian. I like wood and white, and countertops in white compliment your kitchen now, and my guess will continue to compliment it being similar color, other material, very subtle almost invisible pattern or none at all.
