My son has a small bench in his apartment entry. And a mirror would look nice.

Big mirror & small bench; agree, large lightweight art to cover electrical box.

Are you in a cold weather location so people have to remove boots and heavy coats?

first I'd change out the boob light. it's easy to do yourself with something better looking, and you can take it when you move out.

Yes! But I have a small closet right there for all that. Hate to clutter the small space with hooks. Also have a boot tray right out side my apartment. Haven’t had any complaints from fellow neighbor so I think I’m okay with that.
I really think what I need is a nice NARROW bench like suggested. I’m shopping for one online right now!! :)
I don’t have tall mirror any where so I really like the idea of a mirror there. The mirror would face the small closet for the coats if needed.

Just clarifying.. I do live in weather changing cold climate (upstate NY) and the small closet right in the entry is for the coats.

well the closet doesn't really interfere w/putting something on that blank wall. if you want a bench, find a shallow one and put a mirror above it

yes it would. look at flush mount, or semi flush mount entryway lights. I even like the single one in my very first picture I posted further up. you'd need a 100w bulb in something like that for decent light

Once you have decided on the elements of art and bench or narrow table, then get coordinating new fixture. Do watch to see how much clearance you need do you pick one that is not too low. Doors need to be considered. If you have a closet door or I see one door, just make sure you know how much of a drop you have to clear the top of the door. Take the ceiling plate drop into consideration as well. But yes, do replace that boob light! lol

There isn't room for a bench. You might get away with a largish stool in the angle or a skinny Ikea type tip out shoe cabinet for purses that could hold a narrow lamp but that's about it. My entry is 8' long by 3.5' wide and no way I'd put an actual bench there. I made up an 8" deep tip down wall hung console that holds purses and that's pushing it. Consider a long floating box shelf, decor on top with the inside empty ready for guest use.

A rug would be nice. Perhaps an oval would fit into the angle a bit better than a rectangular or round rug.

This bench from Ikea would fit perfectly - it's 31" long by 18" wide.

My entry is 4’ feet wide facing the small closet for coats. I have this bench in my room that I brought out to see and it is 17inches in depth. And.... it doesn’t feel right to me. The bench in much too low seems off. I almost feel like yes it should be a lot narrower and also something higher here. Here’s a picture

Maybe it’s the wrong kind of bench and missing the mirror too.
I do need a lil rug, oval sounds good. I will look into the lighting and rug after I find the right sitting or table and art.

Hmmm I like that IKEA bench.... That would send me in a different direction look wise but perhaps simplicity is better.

I am not sure of big mirror in that location. Try taking small mirror and put where that picture is hanging to see what it will reflect. Mirrors work best when they reflect something nice as well as bounce additional light around. Angle walls are a but tricky in this regard. If you don’t have a extra hanging mirror, go to Hobby Lobby and get one around 24” wide x 36” high to use as tester. You can always return it.

You need very small stool or 14” depth bench and 18-20” wide x 18” high. How wide is that angle wall? Shoot I just see latest photos and it will reflect that door. Humm. Gotta think about this.

In my last house I had a narrow entryway. I put a VERY narrow, vintage Chinese bench there. It wasn't wide enough for many adults to comfortably sit on but it was a good place for handbags, etc. My daughter did something similar with it after I moved. There are a lot of these wood Chinese pieces floating around so I don't think you'd have to look too far to find something similar if that idea interests you.

I would try the bench on the straight wall, if there is room to open the door - not the angled wall. On the angled wall, it looks like it can't decide which room it wants to be in; on the straight wall, it is very solidly in the entry. I would put the mirror above the bench - again, not on the angled wall.

I also think the upholstered bench looks out of place in that spot.

This is what that space looks like. A Small narrow bench (like a Chinese bench) and mirror reflecting the electrical box art. I still want the mirror and I like the idea of a mirror there too. Never thought of that. I’m looking at Chinese benches or very narrow benches right now. I’m going to stay away from the traditional ones I was looking at before.
