I am building a new townhome that is due for completion in May and am beginning to make my selections. My style tends towards contemporary, but definitely not too cold and very artsy. I plan to use two cabinets, a white acrylic on the perimeter, Yorktowne smoke slab door on island, oven cabinet and near refrigerator. I'd like to use a dramatic stone backsplash behind the cooktop and hood. There are so many beautiful stones with a lot of movement, I don't think I'll have a problem finding something I like. I need a quieter, white low mainenance stone for the counters that will compliement the backsplash and cabinets. I've included pics below for reference of what I'm considering. Currently I have blue pearl granite in my home that his been no maintenance and I don't want to select a countertop that requires more work, though I am ok with sealing once a year. I'm thinking I need to find a good, cool-white quartzite. Take a look at my pics below and I've love to hear your input.
