Korean War Gift to my Father

This brass bowl was gifted to my father after he was a Korean War POW (USAF) by Brig General of Korea 11th Div (ROK). Not sure if this was a peace offering or friendship gift but it was from his family to my father after they became friends after the conflict. He never spoke about it much. It is engraved. Any history of the piece, type of bowl/centerpiece or way to gauge its age or wordings? Just curious on this Veterans Day as I participated myself in the day with my dear brothers and sisters.

Very nice memento! The bowl may be an average piece, but its the engraved nomenclature that is important.

ROK likely refers to "Republic of Korea", a term used by South Korea's Military. However, an internet search indicates that "lim boo taek" is a Chinese phrase. Does this make sense?

I am familiar with ROK. Actually found this general's name on a valor page and several others, so it is legitimate. It was his name for certain. https://valor.militarytimes.com/hero/400533
