HELP! New floor in dining

Doing a makeover in the dining room, which currently has carpet. Want to do a farmhouse style so the walls will be very light gray. What kind of floor should a put in. The living room is red oak but the kitchen is maple, same color scheme. Don’t know if I should put in wood floor and try an match it or put in a tile floor(thinking plank wood style but a light color). Suggestions.

Try to match the flooring, so it feels like one flooring throughout the whole house.

Floor needs to match the living room at a minimum due to the bigger opening. Ideally one floor through out would be best. But understand budget constraints maybe in play.

I agree with kodiak23 above. The floor needs to match the living room, and should ideally match throughout.

Share the dimension of the room and I will make 3D mockup of your room where you can change color and material of walls and floor to visualise better.

Keep the red oak going...and then make a few decisions about the kitchen redo. Red Oak (site finished) is SUPER easy to match. The stain might need some tweaking but other than that it is the 'best' option.

The kitchen maple is going to be a bit of a problem....but that's for another day. When you are ready to redo the kitchen, you will know how easy it is to continue the red oak...because you will have done it before.
