Need help with kitchen counter-tops
Comments (35)Hi potatomasher. Wow, you're getting a lot of varying input. As a former kitchen designer and realtor, I'd want to know what buyers expect in a house like yours based on location, price range, etc. Personally, I'd have three experienced, successful realtors come in to do a comparable market analysis. Look at the kitchens - and baths - of the homes that have sold. My hunch is that you'll find little or no solid surface (Corian) because it scratches and can even melt. It's not what most buyers are looking for anymore. In my experience selling lots of countertops (!) quartz is preferred followed by granite. My advice would be to do the backsplash, countertops - and the floors - or nothing at all. Doing any one but not all will just make the "old" pop against the new. You could even offer an "allowance" to the buyer to make their own changes after settlement. If you do make changes, avoid patterns like the plague and keep it simple! Keep it light. You can never go wrong with a white or off white subway tile and they're cheap! Best of luck!...See MoreWhite cabinets with a gray Quartz counter top or white counter top
Comments (7)Katie - I’m not sure if you are asking me or someone else...but we did go with an Italian Carrera Marble. I attached pics of the now done space. Quartz technology isn’t there yet. Everything we looked at for marble imitation quartz was just that.....an imitation. It was too dotted or gray. But I will say these are pics of our marble 6 mos later. Still no stains or etching. I seal it every other month to be safe, but it’s a quick thing to do. I still love love love it and I don’t regret it AT ALL!!! ❤️...See MoreVerona Quartz Counter-tops Vs. The Competitors?
Comments (4)Well my choice was the Calacatta Oviedo from their marble look collection, I was at a local retailer in San Diego and they presented Verona Quartz, I love the look of the material I feel like it's the real natural look just like marble. I have it through my kitchen as well vanity tops. The product has been installed for over 2 years and I have not noticed a single smudge on the material, I'd say that it's pretty tip-top. I'd recommended to all homeowners to check them out!...See MoreCounter-top advice
