Local government has hired a contractor to renovate municipal athletic fields here. This week - mid Nov., in 6b7a NJ. Work has already begun. Much of the preexisting vegetation (turf and weeds) is no longer visible. Sand based soil has been used for leveling, it appears. Looks like seeding will be done next dry day.

”Turf blankets” will be placed.

Is this a proven practice with a track record of success? Wishful thinking/scam? Something somewhere in between?

Anyone with experience/knowledge in this practice? What is expected outcome next July 30th?
