I’m posting this in hopes that it helps someone else who does an all out search and spends tons of money Trying to figure out how to get rid of the “dusty” look to their natural slate floors!!

I’ve had my floors for 3 years and happened upon a solution while visiting someone‘s house looking at a FB marketplace item. They had the same natural slate floors but they looked like they were under a 1-2” clear coat. I now realize that I don’t have that thick coat which was probably “epoxy”

however, I still used the products that was recommended.

ZEP sealant and ZEP wet look polish that is applied with a mop.

Here are those beautiful slate tiles before they were installed. In hindsight, I believe the tiles were supposed to be sealed before Installation, that’s quite a task so not sure how that works ... maybe seal before grout ... and I would have gone with the darker grout as it was always the grout lines that stood out as dusty

Soon After installation I had backsplash installed and the guy mopped the floor...my floor basically looked like grout had been mopped over the entire floor!!

I was at a lost and spent tons of money and searching websites trying everything, only for the floors to turn back to dust after they dried.

I do 1-2 coats of the sealant and 2-4 coats of the polish. It’s a miracle product! This is 4 coats; however, with 2 coats They stayed looking like this for 2-3 months.

The product also goes a long way. I only need a bucket filled 1” high for each coat.
