Comments (4)It will take more product, but running it diagonally might be a solution for your long rooms. https://www.houzz.com/photos/80s-home-renovation-modern-family-room-vancouver-phvw-vp~2162048 https://www.houzz.com/photos/80s-home-renovation-modern-family-room-vancouver-phvw-vp~2162051...See MoreKarndean Vinyl Plank Laying Pattern
Comments (10)The installer has allowed "H" joints to show = no-no in flooring industry. An "H" joint is when the short joints are only off-set by one plank. This is a poor/low cost way of installing flooring. A well laid floor = 1st row starts with full plank; 2nd row starts with 2/3 of a plank; 3rd row starts with 1/3 of a plank. If your installer is REALLY good, they will work in 1/4 plank increments so every 4th row starts with a full plank... Your floor has been installed with full plank, then 1/2 plank, full plank, 1/2 plank = "H" joints. The short ends/joints should NEVER meet up the way this floor has been installed. If you want you can bring them back to reinstall, but if you have already paid them you may have to pay again. The install is not the best but it is "functional" because this is a vinyl floor. The "randomness" of the planks is fine...the joints are what makes this floor look "wrong"....See MoreIn which direction should I lay these planks?
Comments (8)We ran them the length of our entire house. The only issue was that you can literally stand at one wall and see the planks running all the way to the back of the house. We had Amish installers. You need to measure and snap a chalk line the entire way then run the center boards and build out. It looked like it required a lot of skill to get them straight since if one board is off the whole look is ruined. On the flip side, it looks awesome and ties all the spaces together beautifully....See MoreDarcie Moore
