I'd recommend against hanging large artwork over both consoles. You already have a TV over the fireplace and artwork on either side of the TV isn't a good idea. You should consider hanging smaller art on the wall rather than one large piece to balance the large painting on the other wall. Mirrors would work too.

Alternatively, you could add a painting over one console, and add a tall vase/ plant on the other one leaving the wall empty.

You don't have enough LIGHT. Add two beautiful lamps, and then stop : ) Then get a RUG!

What you are lacking is color and texture. An interesting patterned, ethnic or tribal rug can add both elements. You won’t know if your art is “too much” until you hang it. If you can lower the tv to just above the mantel, it may look better, although I never like a tv over such a high mantel. More lighting can help brighten the room.

Yes. Absolutely. Hang a couple of prints above your cabinets. They should be the same size with the same frame and should relate to each other. Also, remove the clutter on top of the cabinets and replace with a couple of matching lamps, not too small. Then stop. There will be enough going on that you don't need to add small things on the cabinets. Also remove the clutter on the mantle. You don't need it. When you have the large print on the wall close by and the artwork on your fireplace wall, it's enough. The small things are visual clutter. Oh, and don't get matchy with your artwork. Buy art that speaks to you and you will love forever.

The excessive symmetry drives me nuts. It's as though the stuff was bought to be symmetrical instead of interesting. That's okay for a dentist's office, but not a home. It's just store-bought décor stuff that has no interest or personality, and certainly has nothing about you or your life on display. Toss it and put something interesting in there. The same applies to the art you choose.

Get your life in that room.

Center the consoles on those walls. They aren't part of the FP, so let them dominate the wall space. I'd prefer lamps, as suggested. Add some colorful art glass if you like it. Hang art on the wall headed to the hallway.

the problem with moving the cabinets to the center of the wall is that the builder put a large data port on the wall right next to the fireplace that would be hard to cover if the cabinet wasn’t in front of it.

I might do some fabric art panels on either side of the fireplace to add color and texture. You could frame them or stretch them. They could bring out the teal color of your pillows.

You can never have too much art.
