Rogue Valley Roses new website

last modified: 5 years ago

I have been checking on RVR often to see when they will have their new website live, and they have it live today. Yay!

I like their Advanced Search feature where we can select to see only "In Stock" item in addition to other criteria. Their website currently shows they have 2 Pretty Jessica in stock. Helen

Yes! I've been looking around on it for a bit. I like that it shows how many of each item are in stock. And I also noticed they have some new unusual things, for instance, Blanc de Vibert, a hard-to-find damask perpetual.

That's good I hope they get everything straightened out. I think they are good, well meaning people and they do grow more unusual things.

I hope they will have more items actually in stock at some point. It is rather frustrating (or was -- I don't really have room for many more roses).

Thank you Bayarea Girl for calling our attention to this wonderful upgrade. Linc, you are so right about the new Paul Barden roses on there. I looked up Diablo Hawk and I love the color. They need a few more photos to complete their set.

The Tea rose photos they do have look great.

This all looks very positive. Scott seemed like a wonderful addition when I visited this Fall, and Janet was very engaged too.

Hi Sheila, I absolutely love the color of Diablo Hawk on HMF! I think that color may resemble Dakota Redwing, which I believe you have an outstanding specimen of. Although I really don't have any open space in my flower beds, I ordered a Diablo Hawk anyway for early April delivery; I'll figure something out.... THANK YOU Helen for bringing the new RVR website to our attention!

They carry many roses in which I'm interested in and I see they do international shipping, though I'm a bit hesitant due to the large number of negative reviews on Dave's Garden. Sheila recently posted a glowing review, possibly their quality has come up as recent? I can order some of the same roses from overseas and those being grafted plants, though at a hefty price a bit hard to swallow, thus I'd prefer to order from Rogue.

I ordered from them last year and again today. I would say to keep in mind the plants they ship are bands, so not huge, but they were all healthy with nice root systems. You may want to call and see about the shipping situation, they have been great to deal with - they got some additional help, Scott was wonderful when I had some questions last year on my order. The new website is awesome, so much easier to navigate - and being able to choose in stock only is a time saver!

The minute I saw Diablo Hawk, I ordered it. What a color! And not a Gallica or other cold weather rose unsuited to the California coast.

I'm completely in love with that color too Colleen! The bloom form and color bring to my mind of Tuscany Superb, but reblooming!! I'm ready to baby this one in a container so he can quickly settle in. I wonder how he will stand up to our high BS pressure? There is absolutely no information to be found anywhere, here on the Forum nor HMF. I'm hoping Paul may chime in? Come to think of it, I will start another post on this particular rose to catch Paul's attention.
