Reverse roll Roller Shades?

November 30, 2019

I was planning on using Bali Roller Shades in ornamental Frosty, but the price is coming in higher than expected. I didn't realize the preliminary price didn't have a valance or cassette included. As you know those add up quickly. I don't think I'll like the standard roll with no valance/cassette. Am I correct to think that will cheapen the look of a relatively expensive window treatment? I'm considering a reverse roll, which I like, but I'm not sure if it will work in my windows. The windows are 2.5" deep plus a window trim which brings it to around 3-1/8" deep. Will a reverse roll w/ a continuous chain lift system work in that depth? Should I switch to cellular shades? I'm also considering the Roller shades on the main floor and cheaper shades (cut to size at Lowes) on the 2nd floor which is primarily the kids' space. I can upgrade their space later when they are a bit older and hopefully gentler on furnishings.
