??? Adding nematodes to soil mixed with diatomaceous earth???

Can nematodes survive in soil mixed with diatomaceous earth.
I don't want to harm the little guys, but I do want the benefits of them both.
I have tried several methods to get rid of fungus gnats and now I'm curious whether or not to combine the two or try one at a time.

Gnats are due to over watering and using a soil thats too water retentive.

Skip both of those and amend your soil with 50% perlite or make your own 5.1.1. mix.

Flushing the soil with a dilute solution of 3% hydrogen peroxide will also help. But essentially the presence of fungus gnats IS a watering issue. Either cut back on your watering regime or repot with a less moisture retentive potting mix, like the 5-1-1 suggested above.
