Tennessee Gardening Tips & Techniques Garden

I’m murdering my fiddle fig. help!

I bought this guy over the summer. Did great at first, but he’s been struggling since I moved him to a bigger pot. I thought it would calm down, but he hasn’t and I am worried my black thumb is back in full effect (I’ve never kept a plant alive this long). What can I do? Any help is appreciated!!

What's the stuff at the base? I hope it's not exposed roots. Is the potting mix soggy? What kind of potting mix did you use? What was the size of the original container and what is the size of the current one? Whatever you do, try not to over water.
