Pineapple plant help for a total novice

I've had my pineapple for a few months and it's so far surviving. I bought it at a supermarket and have zero clue what species it is or anything. I've tried looking for support to look after it online but came up short.
I thought it was dying as it was beginning to lean to one side. The fruit isnt yet ripe but is beginning to go yellowish. When watering it today I have noticed 2 baby plants have appeared and that appears to be the reason its leaning.
What do I do? Help me look after this plant as I do love it.

These like it bright and humid, think full sun in Hawaii. Botanical name is Ananas comosa.

They are a bromeliad so rosettes that have flowered collapse eventually, to be replaced by new rosettes coming from the same slowly creeping rootstock - these will be the "baby plants" you are seeing. When these start to make things look crowded the time to move the whole onto a larger container is approaching.

Or you can clip them off with some basal material attached, pot them on to become new specimens and discard the original, flowered rosette after it starts to fall apart.
