Brick the same as the walkway.

I would make your landing a bit deeper before the stairs, it seems that the walkway is impeding on the amount of space you have to work with? Is that why the previous stairs were curved? If at all possible, prioritize new strait steps that flare out and larger landing and make the walkway work with that.

I've never seen a set of brick stairs that didn't fail.

Agree that landing needs to be deeper -- but stay beneath the overhang and gutter above.

Have you considered removing that "pony wall" on your porch and building steps as wide as the resulting opening? Also, consider making each step a bit deeper than the steps you removed.

A metal rail on the side from which the pony wall is removed would be a good idea -- preferably with a light atop the post at the bottom of the post.

I’d curve and put nice tall pots on ends of lower step with nice tall flowers/plants. Soften the angles a bit

Thank you, All! One thing I didn’t mention, but is important, is that my house’s entry is on the side of the house. The house was built in 1908 and the charming front entrance was covered into the porch when previous homeowners enclosed in many years later. I’m trying to make the steps provide a welcoming appeal from the sidewalk, which is 90 degrees from the front door.

suezbell- yes, that pony wall has been removed to allow the stoop to be the entire width now.
