it was $29.98 plus tax and it was in a 3.5 gallon pot. The tag says it won’t get larger than 5’, I’ll believe that when I see it. Is yours holding fruit yet? Or did it just recently flower?

Ya'll are so lucky. A red finger lime is the last citrus on my wish list! Where can I order one from? It would have to be shipped.

I've got flower buds, not yet open. I will probably try and let one of the six buds bloom and get ripe (assuming I can paintbrush pollinate the flowers successfully).

I got this as a very young twig graft from Stan McKenzie this spring. I had seen he had acquired a red finger lime which had one or two fruit on last year during a visit to his farm during the fall, so I beat feet back when I knew he had this (which was his first graft from that plant). Mine cost $20 from Stan (no shipping since I was in person picking the baby up). I'm sure it will take a few more years to reach Evan's plant size, but that works for me, since I have to haul my tropicals in for winters!

Thanks Redneckgirl, looks like Four winds has them for sale as well as fast growing trees. Not sure they’ll be the red type but they do have finger limes available.

I got my Australian Red Fingerlime from Jene's Tropicals. There were actually 4 trees in the pot. I separated them out and repotted them. They are doing well. Last year I got lots of flowers but no fruit. They should do better this year.

I used to have a Green fingerlime but had to leave it with my mom when I moved to FL. The green one had fruited a lot.

I wanted a finger lime until I tried one LOL.
Inside the skin, it's like lime caviar or tapioca, tiny little lime flavored globes.
I never saw much use for them--maybe as a garnish for sushi?

In late September, I happened to see a tiny fingerlime on the bonsai bench at a local nursery...so I had to buy it, eventhough I'd told myself NO MORE CITRUS! hahaha!

Anyhow, for $5 I couldn't resist, and it actually turned out to be 2 rooted cuttings, which immediately bloomed and set fruit. I put them in a slightly larger pot, and I'll repot them individually when the season warms up again.

About a month ago, my girlfriend and I went to a new restaurant in town, and one of the appetizers was raw scallop in a cold, citrusy fingerlime broth with Thai chiles and young coconut. It was excellent.

$5 is a total steal! I need to move somewhere more citrus friendly so I can find great prices like that.

Josh, what exactly is that mix composed of? It's beautiful. Looks liek pieces of charcoal? Nice plants too))) Who could resist!?

That mix is basically some chunky 5-1-1, but I reused some of the coarse ingredients from other mixes. I'll check on it for you and report back.
