Cleaning Tips Design Dilemma

Removing Grout Haze from Dekton Countertops.

Has anyone had any luck removing grout haze (pre-mixed, SimpleGrout brand) from Dekton counters? We have tried water, scrubbing with micro-fiber cloth, scraping with putty knive, Aqua-Mix haze remover, and CLR with no luck.

Try turpentine , white spirits or ACETONE.You need a solvent. DO NOT SCRAPE!

DEKTON kitchen worktops can be treated with different cleaning agents depending on the kind of stain that you are dealing with. The following table is the recommendation from Cosentino:

Stain Cleaning Product Grease & Oil Alkaline detergent / Solvent Ink Solvent Rust Acid Limescale Acid Wine Alkaline Detergent / Acid Tire Rubber Solvent Ice Cream Alkaline Detergent Resin / Nail Varnish Solvent Coffee Alkaline Detergent / Acid Candle Wax Solvent Asphalt Solvent Residual Cement Acid Gesso Acid Epoxy Adhesive & Grouting Solvent Cola Oxidant Fruit juices Oxidant Tar Solvent Nicotine Solvent / Oxidant Acid cleaning products can include any of the low pH or descaling agent etc. Alkaline products include basic agents, ammonia etc. Solvents can include products such as universal solvent, turpentine (white spirit), acetone, alcohol etc. Oxidants include products such as hydrogen peroxide and diluted bleach.

It’s seamed exactly like quartz counter, with color tinted epoxy. By a trained Pro. Grout shouldn’t be anywhere near it.

Why is grout on a sintered countertop please?

Please no judging - grout was accidentally dropped on the counter top while installing backsplash. SimpleGrout says to clean up with the Aqua Haze which isn't working.

It’s your tile professional’s issue to own. Not yours. Any 1 month apprentice knows to cover the countertop before starting the backsplash. If he can’t remove it, he buys you new counters. IF he is a licensed and insured, responsible, professional.
