You can also drill a motion or dusk to dawn sensor into the back plate or part of the frame.

They make small things that go between the bulb and the fixture that provide the sensor feature. The problem I had with these is that my outdoor fixtures aren't big enough and this makes the bulb hang too low when it is in there.

They also make LED bulbs now that integrate the motion sensor feature into the bulb itself. If I had it to do now, that's what I'd be looking at.

I had a photo sensor for my front porch and I was very unhappy with its performance so I removed the photo sensor and installed a BN-Link programmable timer. There are more brands available, but all do the same thing.

I have a motion sensor that is remote mounted with the control in the switch box, nothing in the lamp itself.

@weedmeister, would I be able to see a link to the remote motion sensor.

I purchased a bulb with built in motion sensor, however:
It may have been a lemon... did not work in any of the lights I tested.

Width of the lightbulb was too thick.

Anyone knows where I can find a motion sensor bulb, 1 1/4@ diameter or less...

yes, let me look one up. The basics are you drill a small hole usually on the back plate, close to the wires so it can be tied into the electrical then screw on the eye. I have done it to MANY fixtures,

You can go to a real lighting showroom, or an electrical supply house. This might be a special order item as it is for LED and a Motion detector.
