Need help with bedding and accessories

I am having a difficult time deciding what bedding I should do. I love the wall color, pink pillows (which were expensive), and the art work which HAVE to stay. Im willing to get new bedding, a throw pillow, and matching lamps. I want to create a space that is serene but not as boring. Any ideas???

There is a great spread on Amazon. I bought two and I couldn't be happier. It is inxpensive, washes and dries perfectly. I would recommend the off-white to go with the bed. It comes with matching shams so you could replace the dark ones.

I think you have a great start. I think if you added a throw or comforter folded up at the foot of the bed, that would add a lot. Then depending on the color or look (what kind of patterns do you like) you could look for a lamp. I don't know that you have to replace anything: I think you could just add some oomph or finishing touches to what you already have which is quite nice.

    Great wall color.

thank you! I picked out myself. I like florals, toile. Im not much into patterns but I would love to add fun textures like fur.

I think something over the bed that incorporates all the lovely colors you have in the walls, paintings and pillows. Something soft .

Do I see some sage green in your painting? I would find a comforter that has the colors of your wall, the pink pillows, and the darker (sage?) colors of your painting to pull it all together. You need a somewhat muted, not garish print in your bedding.

The room is a lovely soft color and I love the art work. Your lamp does not go with the soft look you're going for, nor does the nightstand (from what I can see). The dark navy print pillows do not belong either. Change out the bedding to something soft that coordinates with the colors in the painting. Use the pink pillows as the accent or "pop". I'd stay in the soft blue/green tones.

Thanks for all of the advice. Originally I was doing the farmhouse look but now I’m sick of it. my bed and dresser are Stoney creek (shabby chic), and my nightstand is a French Bombay chest. I love the furniture and don’t want to replace it. Is there a way to make it more contemporary without trying to hard where it looks off.

Your furniture is fine. Maybe a new lamp for the top of the dresser, too. I think what you need is more luxurious looking bedding. The comforter isn't really inviting and looks a little utilitarian against the nice pillows and art. The velvet that Ida posted would really amp things up in the luxury dept. Or something with more loft, fluff, pouf in the bedding.

I might move the painting to over the dresser, so you can enjoy it. I don't think you need art above your headboard, especially if your bedding had more presence and you replace the lamp with something better suited to the look you want.

I might consider all white bedding. I say this because your furniture is varied and white bedding could keep the room calm and help accentuate your wall color and pink pillow accents. I might also consider white lamps for the tables or possibly clear glass ones. I would get white sheets, pillow cases, a white textural quilt and the a white duvet for the end of your bed. a pic below for the concept.

I think a glass lamp would be prettier than what you have now. I got some beautiful "seconds" lamps at Simon Pearce....

Thanks for all of your suggestions! I ordered a white quilt. Also, I picked up a green clear glass lamp for my dresser. Still working on finding bedside lamps. I’m excited to see it all together.

That bedroom Theresa shared is a dream!

It’s coming together really nice! Still working on table lamps and finding something for the large empty corner. Thank you for all of your advice!

Really looks nice! The bedding looks so full and luxurious.

the look is becoming quite calm and peaceful. the lamp you chose for the dresser seems perhaps a little small. I feel like it could have handled a larger lamp. a taller one could help add height and then you could layer a few other items at varying heights on the dresser to make a nice vignette. a small piece of art on the wall at a height lower than the top of a taller lamp and then a vase with fresh flower would be sweet.

concept of what I was trying to explain above with varying heights. in the picture below, I would have a smaller vase of fresh flowers, but it's the concept...

Thank you but I like the lamp even though it is small. It doesn’t bother me.
