Excess wallpaper paste - how to remove

Hi everyone - I recently had new vinyl, grasscloth-like wallpaper installed in my bathroom. After everything dried, there appears to be excess paste on the wall where the seams are. It's very visible since my paper is a dark blue.


What is the best way to remove this? My installer told me to just wipe it down with warm water. That makes the stains disappear for a few minutes, but then it comes right back. I read to try a little dish soap in the water, but I was wondering if anyone has tried this for themselves. There's one spot where the water won't even make the stain disappear for a few minutes. I'm worried that she tried scrubbing it with something else which discolored the paper.


My bathroom is totally new, so this is definitely ruining the look. Any help is appreciated!

    I would say this is on the installer and they need to fix it. call them back.
