Hood fan for 79”ceiling height

Hi. my slopped ceiling is 79” high from floor. this is an outside or perimeter wall. I need a hood fan and don’t want a downdraft or ceiling fan as they seem not to be effectiv. The stovetop will be induction.

are There any recommended hood fans that will accommodate this ceiling height. Thank you

What is the angle of this ceiling relative to level, or the rise/run of the ceiling?

Hi kaseki. Here is a photo. The current windows will be removed. A 36“ wall will be added so there will be ciunters and stovetop

the stovetop will be between 2 windows

Photo isn't visible; perhaps it has passed on to the great bit bucket in the sky.

We also need to know the characteristics of the wall and what in particular is outside the wall. Were you intending to exhaust to the roof or to the wall exterior.

Note that your wall to ceiling interface at 79 inches is only several inches above where a hood entry aperture should be for best visibility of the cooktop given a deep enough hood. So either a fairly thin hood has to be used, exiting through the ceiling slope or ducted up the ceiling to higher on the roof, or some tailor-made hood that incorporates the same ceiling slope is needed, or a special capture hood feeding a quasi-side-draft configuration (hard to explain with words) might be possible.

In any case, I still would like the angle value I requested.

Here is a concept. I prefer range on wall an not on Island.

Let's stick with the wall question.

The term 'run' refers to a horizontal distance in carpentry. Is this what you measured, or was the 38 inches the distance along the ceiling from the wall to the beam[?]?

Is there roof on the other side of the sloped ceiling?

Are you perhaps using a cell phone for this conversation? This seems to often lead to missed/forgotten questions. Several of my previous questions are unanswered. I'll retract the wall question on the assumption that you can build one as thick as necessary and with any reasonable exterior surface.

I'm guessing that there is no deck outside and that evidently there is no nearby neighbor with a window proximate to the wall that we might dump effluent out of.

I have some manual snow removal to deal with, so a sketch I have in mind will have to wait.

Another question: What is the intended width of your stove/range/cooktop?

Hi kadeski, thank you for helping me out. I measured 38” from wall to beam. The wall is 123” across and can and will be totally changed. No deck or neighbours etc yes there is a roof. As for the angle value, the front of the wall is 79” high and the rear or beam is 95” high its length 38”

I am posting a new thread with regard to the entire kitchen remodel.

Are those two new windows going to be operable? If so, you probably can't vent through the wall anyway. Code requires some minimum amount of clearance between vents and operable windows, and I can't see how you could meet these requirements with windows so close to the range. Venting through the roof should be fine, though.

Hi M, no the windows will not be operable
