This isn't our room. I'm trying to decide if I want to purchase this bed. I will if I can feminize the room with other furniture (side tables) and linens.

Even more reason to actually show your space so we can see how it would fit.

Of course you can. The headboard already has feminine curvy lines. Add a soft shade of turquoise for bedding, perhaps with a lacy edge on the pillows. Add softness with the lamp shades and artwork. Maybe a modern crocheted throw on the bed.

I like the lamps a lot that you show. The mirrors seem incongruous right next to that headboard. The nightstands seem fussy.

Why do you want to buy this bed? It is a masculine style that you want to make more feminine. There are so many bed frames on the market that won’t make you feel you have to over-feminize the other furnishings to make up for the masculine profile you don’t like.

Which look do you REALLY like? The masculine bed frame? The chic transitional lamps? The old-style night stands? The rather modern rug? Some will work together, but not all. Perhaps it would be best for you to find inspiration pics of bedrooms you love, and use those as your style guidelines for picking the furnishings for your bedroom.

What is the size of your room? The sleigh bed style, especially the foot board, can take up a of of visual space.

One of my challenges is that I can't have an upholstered bed because..well..life. I have kids and dogs. So wood it is! I really can't find any wood beds that I like. They are either too farmhousy or way too ornate and gaudy. I want something timeless and elegant. I know this bed doesn't hit the mark and I certainly don't love it. I was hoping to add things around a wood bed so that the bedroom AS A WHOLE would bring me some joy. I like the look of this table with the tapered leg.

There is a HUGE flat screen TV between the closets. It's where we snuggle with the kids and watch movies together.

Don't buy it. It doesn't go with the styles that you are posting at all. You can find a bed similar to the ones you posted without the tall posts.

You can get a beautiful upholstered headboard that is upholstered in what is called "performance fabric". Performance fabric, usually olefin-based but there are others, is used both for outdoors and indoors furniture. It resists abrasion (i.e. pet nails, kids shoes, etc.), resists stains, is washable and easy just to wipe off, is offered in flat-woven fabrics, velvets, and textured fabric, does not need to be sprayed with silicon spray or other coating to be stain and water resistant.

True Miranda. How would that work with an entire bed frame though? I do not want a bedskirt.

We have three kids and a dog and have an upholstered bed. Our bedroom is still a work in progress and I’m not done with pillows and new lamps but the bed is great and we’ve not had any problems with it having kids and a a dog.

This beauty is for sale on FB marketplace. I can see using creams and whites for bedding. Not sure about the side tables.

If I am understanding your question correctly, you don't need a bedskirt. The bed frame is upholstered in the same fabric. Here is a photo of what I mean - I am not saying this fabric or bed is what you want - it's just the first thing that came up with Google images. There are much prettier performance fabrics out there.

You can even go on Amazon and do a search for "bed frame performance fabric" and come up with a bunch. Not sure of the quality of those though, but it may give you ideas for your bed.

That link is King sized. The 'standard' in the head refers to it not being a platform.

When I go to it you need to select size. The king is $1400 is and queen $1100? Regardless under specifications it gives sizes

Have you bought from Wayfair? Their return policy isn’t ideal...

Unless you have a huge bedroom, I would avoid a sleigh bed.

I think these bedrooms below have a nice balance of masculine and feminine details.

Keep in mind that beds with a big footboard, like the one in your OP and the pic you later posted from FB marketplace, make it very difficult to make the bed. You will be cursing that footboard every time you want to tuck in the sheets and blankets at the foot of the bed. Better to choose a bed frame like the several pictured in this thread with no footboard but with upholstered frame all around the bottom and sides for a finished look.

I would NOT put leather in a bedroom. IMO it is best used in a man's den/office/family room. You certainly can get a fabric bed, it just has to be done in a fabric like Perennials from Restoration Hardware, or other performance fabrics, so don't count it out, if it's the look you like. There are many beds that aren't fabric that I love as well.
