I thought that's what throw pillows are for?

Sorry if this is too obvious, and you've already considered this, or it doesn't apply.... :-(
Are the cushions removable? I've had little trouble asking for replacement covers from retailers or manufacturers.

Granted, there's always the very real risk of dye lot differences, in which case, I'd ask for covers for *all* of the cushions, and replace all of the seats.

I have a sand colored Crypton sofa ( bought from the Crypton web site a few years ago.) that had a dried coffee stain all along the front. I used the cleaner that came in the kit from Crypton and had the stain out in about three minutes. No stain or fading left behind.

I would also question whether they used real Crypton material or just labeled it “performance.”

Thanks. They said it was real Crypton. I have reached out to the manufacturer but haven’t talked to them yet. A replacement cushion cover is a good idea. However, i am worried about long term maintenance if the fabric can’t be spot cleaned. We don’t eat in the sofa but accidents will happen. I feel the product marketing was misleading.

I have a similarly colored Crypton sectional (recovered) and the fabric is water clean up only - no solvents/cleaners. Did you get specific cleaning instructions for your particular fabric or did you follow general instructions from somewhere about cleaning it. Mine cleans up like a dream. I've written elsewhere on these forums that about 2 weeks after my sectional was recovered I spilled a full glass of red wine all over it. UGH! But I quickly checked the fabric's cleaning code and instructions, which said a damp cloth with a bit of dish soap. Every bit of the wine came right out. about 2 weeks later I noticed a spot on the front by bottom that I'd missed. Same clean up, came right out.

So I'd question whether you got Crypton or if they gave you the correct cleaning code.

Okay, well if there is any way to find out exactly what the fabric is (like the name or #), that could tell you whether the sofa manufacturer or store provided you with the correct products for your particular crypton. Who is the manufacturer?

Lindsey, it's really confusing. My fabric is Crypton by Greenhouse fabrics. Apparently Crypton is a finish used on many different brands and blends of fabrics to make them stain resistant. My Crypton fabric has a cleaning code of WS, meaning mostly water based clean up of spots. But many of their other Crypton fabrics have a cleaning code of S, which says use no water, just solvent. This is what my fabric says:

Content: 82.32% Rayon, 16.02% Polyester, 1.66% Nylon

Cleaning code:WS

Fire code:

UFAC 1, CAL 117

Finish: CRYPTON ®

Abrasion: 63,000 double rubs

So, I don't know if the cleaning codes are for the underlying fabric BEFORE the Crypton finish is applied, then the Crypton cleaning methods you posted become the proper way to clean, but maybe. And if the OP's couch came with cleaner, that's even more confusing. Depending on what the cleaner is and the fabric content of her upholstery. Maybe, lol! Hopefully, the company can clarify for her and make it right.

Olychick, how is your Crypton by Greenhouse fabric holding up? I am reupholstering 2 sofas and some of the fabrics I’m considering are made by them. What color/style did you choose? Any issues since your last response with stains, pilling or durability?

My Crypton two years old is horrible with piling. I have to recover the sectional. Not what I expected after paying $8,000

Omigosh @jhouse I didn't see your comment 2 years ago and just got notice of this thread being revived and saw it. I am completely in love with my Crypton. No pills, spills and stains (tho I am careful) are easy to remove with a damp cloth and some dish soap. I wrote about what I bought in the previous comment, but I guess I didn't link to the actual fabric. I'm sure it's too late for you but maybe someone else can use the info B5605 Parchment

I think the pilling problem might be caused by the blend of the fibers. This is mostly rayon, which is very soft to touch and doesn't pill. I can imagine if you selected a blend with mostly poly or acrylic, pilling could be a problem. It also has a 63,000 double rub durability, which also might affect the pilling, not sure. It's also USA made and is water cleanable. I imagine if you got one that is NOT water cleanable and used water on it, that could affect it also. This fabric has no pills at all, even when I've rubbed it removing a stain. Even that doesn't affect the appearance of the fabric.

Ugh I’m cleaning my light colored crypton couch with a bissell spot pro. Worked fine on the back pillows. But doesn’t seem to be helping with the actual sectional area. I thought this was supposed to be performance fabric and easy to take care of! Not so much. Frustrating
