New Years Mystery.

My sister and I did the Merry Mayhem mystery last week. This is what I finished today, just the top, it needs to be sandwiched and quilted. The mystery that some of us here, Toolgranny and Calliope, did was my favourite of the four I have done but this is a very close second. Needs a good pressing!!

Theresa, How I envy you having your sister join you in a quilting project! I would love to have an opportunity like that. Did she use the same fabric you did? I love how well it all goes together! I normally prefer to see the end result of a mystery before making it but have done a few of Bonnie Hunter's but go for a smaller size. Not keeping up very well this time. Sometimes it's just the color scheme that pulls me in. :-) Refresh my memory on the one Toolgranny and Calliope did, please,

Sharon, sister’s colours were much different. Do you remember a number of yeas ago when women classified themselves as winter, spring etc. to determine what colours they should wear? I was a spring so most of my fabric choices and therefore quilts are in the pastel range. Marilyn was an autumn so she chooses lovely fabrics in the brown, grey/ blue families. And her quilts are gorgeous.

It would have been more fun to be sewing in the same room but alas she was 200 miles away. We do a lot of email sharing.

I found the pictures of that mystery we did in 2013 and you can see how the three of us went different ways. Mine was blue/yellow (surprise), Linda did civil war fabrics and Calliope did a scrap version. I miss those ladies!

Theresa, I really like the pattern, not something I've seen before. Very pretty.

Really nice. I didn't do this year's Bonnie Hunter mystery but saved all the clues just in case. I'm home from three weeks away so must clean up my sewing room and get serious again. I've lost a whole king size quilt in there still being assembled. It will turn up if I shovel out some stuff.

Theresa, I do remember using the seasons as a color reference for an individual. That's a great idea to use for a quilt that you're keeping. Isn't it amazing how using different fabric makes such a big difference in the same pattern?

Linda, I think Bonnie's mystery this time is the easiest one I've seen.
