Carved wooden box

Can anyone help me identify this carved wooden box? It belonged to my grandmother who was born in the 1903, and possibly her parents who were German.

How big? What does the inside and the bottom look like?

It's a box from Asia made from Camphor wood. My husband brought some home in the late 1960s from Asia when he was stationed there. Based upon the clasp it looks like it's a tabletop box. I've also seen floor models. Not German at all.

It is correct that it is Asian. I have one and I love it. Make sure that you do not keep it in a very dry place as the glue sometimes separates and the wood shrinks at different rates. It is difficult then to repair.
