You size the light to the table, not the ROOM. A 96 " x 42 " table is common. So are eight foot ceilings. Thirty inch diameter, or 36 to 48 inch linear fixture, Make certain not too tall, and that there is some adjustability to hang with 30 or 32 inches of clearance bottom of light to table TOP
