I agree- beautiful home! Do you not love the art piece there that you have or the coloring or the frame style? Have you considered altering it a bit if you actually like it? Either Rub n Buff on the frame to bring it to a gilded color more in line with your ceiling light or the mirror frame in the LR, or keep the print and add wide in white or off-white like your chairs and a simpler gold frame? Maybe one of these options can be a "band-aid" until you find THE art piece.

Do you all feel the print is too Asian?... uhm.... maybe a new pic in the current frame would work better for me, something a little brighter... ivory/gold.

I like the frame better and the lighter matting, but it doesn't take you into a transitional look if that's what you are hoping. Live with it there for a while and see how you like that size. It does go well with your stair runner though.

It's been said here before and I'll just say it again: Never choose art on the basis of whether it "matches" your room or "goes" with a certain style. To do so is to create a soulless space that says absolutely nothing of the people who live in the house. Art is intended to be an expression, in spite of the fact that we are conditioned to believe that it's really "just a pretty picture" to fill a space. Don't fall for that. Your beautiful space deserves to be decorated with art that resonates deeply with you. Ask yourself why you're considering the pieces you're considering, and if the answer stops anywhere short of "because I LOVE it", then keep looking.

Christine, I like that one better and agree with leaving it there for awhile to see how you feel. We have a very similar "fox hunt" print in our home office that we both like.

I like your traditional taste, and you have very traditional furnishings.

I, too, like the fox hunt print and frame. I wonder if it’s too big... but maybe just bc I’m used to a smaller piece there. If the size works in your opinions, I may leave it there, and love it... my husband does!

I love the fox hunt print where you have it! It doesn't need to go higher, and it doesn't look out of scale. I like how the size/shape echos the woodwork below it, and the frame is to die for!!!

I'm going to be the antagonist here. I like the new gold piece you bought. It is a breath of fresh air. The gold color really picks up nicely on the brass accents in your living room. Although it is more contemporary looking than the rest of your house, I think it brings a fresh new element into play that is quite complimentary to your look.
