ConnieMay what a beautiful Jewel of the Nile

peren.all love the waviness of Jaws

    Here are my J's

Jade Cascade - I had the idea I would plant it in this pot then pull the pot out when the plant dies down. The ground froze early, while we were away, and now it's there for the winter. I am hoping for the best.

Jewel of the Nile - new last spring

Journey's End - also new last spring

    June Fever

    June

    Jurassic Park

Every morning I try to like, every morning I fail. Just so you know I LIKE all your J’s!

Awesome pics all. That is the streakiest June Fever I've ever seen Sunnywood. You must be very happy with it. Mine is decidedly less, but I still love that shiny, glowing green color it gets in a shady location.

It might look good next to this Jet Black. I might consider moving them together this year.

I think I'm done with the Jet Black near this Jetstream experiment.

I must like shady June better as I didn't get a pic of sunny June this year (or perhaps it needs more sun).

and a June Bride from Van Wade's place

and a new this year Just So

sunnywood Jade Cascade & Journeys End are always so impressive.

I hope my June Fever does as well as all of yours!

Beth I hope your JC does well over the winter. Since it is pot in pot that should help. That Jurassic Park is really nice! Jaws is not only wavy, it has teeth!

oursteelers June Spirit is a nice one too!

Steve Jet Black & June Fever would look so good together! June Bride is another beauty.

I sold June and June Fever last year, now I wish I had kept at least a tiny piece... :-)

Jet Black is on my wishlist, it might look stunning together with June Fever!

    Jimmy Crack Corn

Saija..Jimmy Crack Corn has beautiful color..it makes me look forward to seeing my yellow hosta..

Paula, keep the jokes coming.... I really am having a good laugh! The dog pretzel and shopping ones really got good laughs out of me.

comment: first LIKE, LIKE, LIKE, etc. since Houzz won’t let us do that. Do you think we are blowing up their system???

connieMay, after seeing your Jack of Diamonds, (actually everyones JOD) I have a sneaking suspicion that mine is not. Your Jack is beautiful. And isn’t June a wonderful hosta? I love how varied it’s look can be. It is one of my favorite hostas.

peren.all, love that Jaws and of course your June.

sunnywood, all your Js are beautiful, but I think my favorite is Joy Ride. I seem to be drawn to those squiggly leaves

    sherrygirl, your June is exquisite

beth, it seems that both your Jewel of the Nile and Journey’s End are doing very well.

I love your June’s color and the only improvement I could see for Jurassic Park is the addition of a dinosaur hiding amongst the leaves :-)

oursteelers, excellent pictures of your June. Love that closeup from the tip of the leaf.

steveduggins, love, love, your June in the shade and June Bride.

Karin, I could comment on each one of your Js, but my fav was Jessica Alba. Is this the normal color or is yours especially yellow from placement in the sun?

M MW, your Journeys End is so full and seems to love it’s placement. It has beautiful soft color.

peren.all, love seeing all of your Junes in a row near the bench and birdbath. They make a very nice decorative row in both spaces. I never thought of using them this way.

Now here are my Js or supposed Js:

Not sure this really is, but it was labeled such.
    Jack of Diamonds

This is a few weeks after I divided a June to remove Halcyon leaves. I planted the rhizome and it started growing.

Saija, both of your Js are lovely. I agree about June’s and love your Jimmy crack Corn.

Just saying, I haven’t had any problems with my like button. Wondering if it’s a software issue???

Yes, and it would be interesting to know if those of you not able to like posts are receiving them from those of us that are still able to.

Karin Jessica Alba is lovely as ever and Jim Mathews is very nice.

M MW another great Journeys End. What is the blue one outside the edging?

nw what a bunch of nice June.

    Saija nice JCC!

djacobz your June has such soft colouring!

    Another nice Jurassic Park Shadow!

I hope they know and are working on the "like" button situation. I wonder if it's certain devices ...or the choice of browser? Now I'm nervous about my upcoming change of laptops and updating to Windows 10.

peren..I've wondered the same thing..how nuts is this..I use 2 android phones (old and newer) for Gardenweb..the newest one has the app..the old one doesn't..when I'm typing a comment on the new one I use the old phone to scroll on the post..if I need to edit I use the old phone..I can't edit on Houzz on the newest one..I search for old posts on my old phone (can't on Houzz)..it could be that it's just me but I'm not able to do some things on my newest phone..the like button doesn't work on my old phone..I can't like anything..or see who has liked the post..but like works on the newer phone with Houzz..it's ridiculous isn't it?..

sandyslopes..I agree with peren..the colors in your pics are beautiful..good luck with your new device and updates..save the old one..you might need it Lol..I need two haha..

nw that is ridiculous, what a hassle for you! I am just glad you are sticking with it. I know it is a pain to deal with Houzz but it would be worth it if you could do everything on your new phone. I imagine another option could be to contact the maker of your phone and make inquiries or go in and talk to one of the techies. I am lost when it comes to phone tech issues. I wish I could help!

Thanks mbug! As usual you do not disappoint, your specimens are always amazing!

June divided and separated after two years.

Still having problems posting pics. Maybe one or two at a time. My likes on others posts also don't show up. Anyone see them? Maybe a setting screwed up?

peren..in a way I like it lol..the old phone has a bigger screen..I can read a post on the old as I'm writing a comment on the new..they're both easy to hold..I've googled things such as "how to edit a comment on Houzz"..and found out that some Gardenweb functions aren't available on Houzz..for now I'm getting by..

this is a few years old..but for me it still seems true..

    Djacob,

Jessica Alba is yellow for a few months, then turns light green in summer, Surely a sunny place helps to let it glow in spring.

a little bleached in July, our summer was too hot...

    Jade Cascade

    Journey’s End

    Joy Ride

zkathy, your J’s are wonderful! Especially JadeCascade. Wow. Looks like one that really belongs in a pot

    last modified: 6 years ago

Lol nw! I can barely handle one but I can see that working for you!

old_dirt sorry you are having trouble posting but I am liking and "liking" what I see. I have not received any from you but have from some others. You are not alone in this problem.

I think that answers my question posed earlier. Those of us that can "like" can be seen by others that are still functioning.

I am not sure if the problem is Houzz or the devices being used (or a combo of both). Has anyone notified Houzz? They would probably tell you to empty your cache, clear history & cookies and make sure your Operating System and browser were up to date. They would also say Houzz functions best with Google Chrome (Firefox seems to work well too)

Kathy yours are looking great! I have always thought your JC was fabulously displayed and Joy Ride - Wow!

I use a laptop computer with Chrome with Windows 10, tried the cleanup cache, history and cookies. The like button still doesn't work. My phone android with the houzz app the like button works. Since I typically use my laptop I am still not liking anyone's post. I really do like everyones pictures they are inspiring and a site for sore winter eyes.

zkathy..to me Jade Cascade mimics a fountain with the long green leaves flowing out of the whiskey barrel..I love it..

peren..I did send Houzz an email once..they gave me exactly the same advice that you mentioned..I'm on Chrome on the new phone..I guess the bottom line for me is I want the old Gardenweb..but I need to get over it..

Beth..you have a newer setup than I do..we both use Chrome but you (and everyone else) are able to caption your pics individually..my pics are on my new phone so I have to post them on the Houzz app but I can't do the captions as I want....if I use the old phone edit button I can put some text below the pics..I did this the other day..maybe I'll try 2 step posting lol..

    Peren.all -

The blueish one on the outside of Journeys End is Olympic Sunrise!

Thanks M WM. I just looked it up, it is very attractive. It is difficult to see if it is in a pot/or not. Plans to expand the bed or placing it there to see if it would be a good companion to JE or both?

Wow. I can't believe the alphabet is this far along already... and I haven't posted anything. Haven't had time to go through my photos, or do much of anything not work- or family-related lately. If I get some downtime, I'll try.

However - everyone's photos are great! And Paula - love the jokes!!!

    Windy mess,just start with K

Mbug love your and everyone else’s Joy Ride. I bought Waterslides in August but I think it is a smaller hosta

old dirt, your June and J. Spirit are beauties.

Karin, thanks for the pictures of J Alba. I love the chartreuse color too

zkathy, your Jade Cascade in the barrel really does the hosta justice. It’s marvelous dripping down over the edge like a waterfall. Also love your Joy Ride.

    Jessica Alba

    Jack Berry

    Newcomer this year (last year)

    last modified: 6 years ago

Love that joke "how I shop at plant stores" Paula! That's me exactly!

I love June. One of my favorites.

Love the color of June Fever. I think it is a really nice hosta. This picture was taken at the end of May. But right behind it is a large hosta.

So by the end of the summer, half of June Fever is getting covered up. You can see the difference in June Fever's coloration---lighter in front, darker in back.

    Joy Ride coming along nicely.

Maria the blue of Jack Berry is wonderful! I’m going to have to keep an eye out for that one.

    'Jessica Alba' gives me palpitations.

    'Jetstream' in May

    'Jetstream' July 19th

    'June' always looking great.

StevePA..I love your pictures..Jessica Alba with a few beads of water is just beautiful..

StevePA, also love yourJessica Alba, your June has such soft yellow and green colors, mine are more light blue and chartreuse. Can’t believe how much Jet Stream changes. It becomes so shiny. Very nice indeed.

    Justine, very nice shiny surface

Jimmy Crack Corn under Aralia cordata Sun King (excellent and hardy large sized perennial for shady beds)

    The Jessica Alba's are spectacular.

StevePA6a that is a wonderful picture of Jet Stream - is that Tiarella Running Tapestry next to it? I was thinking of purchasing it next year.

    Hear's some more J's:

Journey's End grown in full shade.

    Journey's End leaf shot

    Jabulani emerging still

beverly, not sure what variety of tiarella that would be, picked it up at a yard sale and quickly fell in love with it.

I planted a few more varieties and found out the rabbits will enjoy the clumping tiarellas right down to nubs during the colder months. I have to cage them in if I want them to actually GROW.

    last modified: 6 years ago

Laura, you have a stunning yard as can be seen in your photo of Jimmy Crack Corn. Justine reminds me a bit of Rainbow’s End, it is so shiny.

beverly, that leaf shot of your Journey’s End is really stunning! Jabulani is an interesting name, but what a beauty! Reminds me a bit of Paradigm.

I am wondering if that tiarella you like is Sugar and Spice?? It has a white flower like that I believe.

Steve I love your Jetstream hosta, nice dark leaves.
