Would this type of kitchen island with seating work?

Hi. I would like to have a kitchen island constructed. If we were to use stock cabinets, it would probably be less expensive than having one made completely from scratch, but we are open to either. The dimensions of a quartzite remnant that I have for the top is approx. 55x36" I would like to have seating on both longest sides to use this as a table. I wouldn't mind just 9" overhang on the 2 longest sides. I would want doors on one side with roll-outs. I would only store seldom-used items since the stools would be there. I'm also wondering if I can have casters so it would be somewhat mobile. I'm asking any carpenters out there if stock cabinets would hold a heavy quartzite top well and if I can have the island on casters. (I'd like to push it out some between kitchen and living room for entertaining and push it back more into the kitchen to use as our table). Thank you so much for any advice!

You’re proposing an inherently unstable and dangerous design. If you want a table, just design a table topped with stone. Stretcher bars, intermediate supports, corner blocks, and legs. If you want an island, it needs to be permanently fastenable with electrical outlets. If you want a mobile cart, then you don’t need a heavy stone top creating instability and a top heavy crashable structure that breaks your foot and kills your dog. Full height door cabinets with roll outs are not a stock off the shelf option either. It’s a special order everywhere. You’re talking a custom design, to even begin to make a piece of what you want work.

You're trying to get people to sit at a table with a 9" overhang?

Agree that you ought to decide whether you want a table, an island, or a cart. Trying to have all three at once may wind up with something that's not good at any of it.
