Knock This Wall Down?

As part of a renovation we are about to undergo, we discussed removing this portion of the mirrored wall with our contractor and he says it's doable. My fear, however, is that the small mirrored wall attached to the left will look out of place because we need to retain it. We planned to remove the mirror, re-texture it and mount a TV unit to it in effort to open up floor space. Additionally, our plan includes opening the wall to the right (nook wall) up by about 13" to allow natural light in a bit more. Any/all thoughts, questions are welcome. Thanks in advance

What would help is a sketch of the floorplan showing the wall. Sketch the whole room(s).

Are you flipping the house and that's why you want to remove the wall?

Are you living in the house?

I ask this because the use of the rooms is important to whether you want to remove the wall or not. From your post, it sounds like you are just flipping the house and are not planning to use the room for your own needs. It also looks like there is a room behind the wall that would lose an important wall for function.

I would definitely be removing all mirrors, but, I would leave the wall.

we considered removing the mirrors and cutting shelving into it, but that didn't seem very mass appeal

thanks for your response! we are actually renovating the house for our own use, but are looking to make mass appeal renovations that would be wise when it's time to sell. there is a very small room behind that wall with seating a TV and record player. If we take down just a portion of the mirrored wall, we would not lose the function of that room because the TV unit fits perfectly on the smaller wall on the other side. I will sketch the room and post. thanks so much!

Here are the some of the realtor's photos prior to us purchasing the place. Haven't had a chance to draw up the space, but an hoping this provides some perspective. Nothing looks the same, but this should give you an idea of what happening on the other side of the wall and how small the space is. Let me know if drawings would help or if this gives you a firm idea of what we're dealing with. Thanks so much!!

that's also my inclination, but I don't want to make our tiny space TOO open concept
