What do you suggest? I did see wood ones that were 14x14. The current ones I had fit 4 no problem

4 looks crowded to me too. Do you have a need for all 4? We are a family of 6, but I only have 3 stools currently because my island is only 80" wide. Everyone has plenty of space to get in and out.

What’s the length of the island?

It’s about 67”

We have a island that is 124" in length & we have 4 stools, IMO you do not have enough room for 4 in your island, Here is a photo of the stools we purchased, from Scan Design as we are in Canada

I would use 3, depending on the specs.

I think you can, maybe, fit 3 stools there, but even that would be tight. If you absolutely need 4, I'd go with swivel circular seats, no backs. Metal or wood legs would work.

I agree, 4 looks really tight in your space. You should have 24" of space for each stool, even if the stools are narrower than that, this allows room to move in and out. My island is 95.5" long and 4 stools look crowded at my island. But these might work, but I'd consider 3 at most:

I had 4 stools there for 2 years and no issues. When I have parties people just move them out a little. They adjustable ones worked just need to be replaced. Wasn’t sure what style goes best

Yes, you can fit four, but that doesn't mean it doesn't look a little crowded. If you are set on four then I would look for some without a back and a pedestal if you can find it. That is the reason the top ones look like they fit better is because they have a pedestal that keeps any of the legs from jutting out past the island. Whatever you look for, I would say stick to a traditional, transitional, or farmhouse style. The one's below might be able to work.

I guess the other thing to take into consideration is it mainly kids sitting on these or do adults use them as well. Kids can go with a little bit narrower seat but adults would be comfortable on something wider. The other option would be to have three there for most of the time and a fourth you can pull out when you have company.
