    Yes, top one could work.

This plate has atiny line of brown that goes around it.

The brown would disappear against your wood. That is more turquoise than blue. I would keep your blues going. Not turquoise.

Resist buying just to get "something". But if you fall in love you need 4 of anything you get. This will provide the balance the cabinet needs IMO.

I found these in they do have four of each of them.

The smaller Plate it is navy blue but it looks black on the photo.

OH! I like the bottom one with the scrolls. What is size?

    Found 2 more
They have plenty of both sizes everything I’m showing you.

If you’re asking about the one that is smaller than I said looks black in the picture but yet it’s navy blue it is 8 inch round. This one.

I changed my ‘china display’ look to liked grouped objects and added collected item I gathered over the years tschotskys. Just went thru every cupboard, stored box etc. put everything on the dining table and my bed and I started adding and subtracting stuff that we like. My friend encouraged me to try any and all objects! It was fun but exhausting!lol!
Took about a week of tweaking.....Sound like you are having fun!

Flo, What do you think of this green plate? They only have it in the smaller sizes.Right before I sent these I found a darker green.

Keep goal in mind. Lighter but with some color. Your wall color looks more sage green in your photos! So greens will be tricky. Blues work better. 10” round is needed to act as background. Too small won’t work.

    This one is 11 inches.

Here are a few mock ups to show you how nice the blues work.

Blue solid would need white or light in front of it.

    This one is 10.5 inches

The image to the right they do not have that one in a ten size only eight.

Not crazy about any of the choices so far. We can use 4 of your current plates and stack smaller ones in front if them. We could try that.

That's nice Susan, your eye kind of goes from one grouping to the next, kind of a journey of discovery!

OK I can return them with no problem. I really like the pottery look of the you sent me but too expensive to get four. I am not at home right now when I get there I will put some of my plates behind there and see what it looks like. I will send you a pic later.

Are any of these workable you think?I’m in the grocery store and I seen these. These will be the last picture I sent you today.

I forgot to send this one.

@Susan Davis, your cabinet looks lovely with the groupings!

Upper left and bottom in basket plus last one all worth a try if you can return. This is a “process” so kind of trial and error. Good job!

I will get one of each of those you mentioned and we will give it a test.

I took this one to show the different color of the plates inside the hutch.

    Susan Davis
I noticed that your cabinet has lights in the top of it in mine does not. My shelves or a dark brown and I do not want to change the shelving.

Gee, I like them all! The variation is pleasing!

    Flo, you’re killing me! Lol

So my question is should I just play with these plus some of my other plates that were in there to start with and see what it looks like.

  • PRO

Sure. Let’s see what develops. How many blue ones do you have. 9? One for each spot? You need at least 4 blue-ish ones!!

  • PRO

Try a blue one on top center and left and right and center bottom if you have 4 blues.

    First attempt

I put in a different blue plate on the lower shelf to see how it looks.

Flo, Have you seen this picture yet?

  • PRO

Just finished dinner. I think that one is too dark. Looks a bit too large for height of space? Could just be camera angle.

OK, I will scratch that one.

It is really coming along though. So much more interesting. Does your beautiful china cabinet justice. You are close.

I didn’t see a comment that I sent you which said I do have some cut glass, silver and sending a pic of my China dishes.I replaced the middle center shelf with a different object.

So personal and curated looking. Do you love it?!

Yes, I think the cabinet to the right the top and middle shelf still look a little bare.

I think it probably needs to rest for a while. I was wondering what your thought was about baskets or something else on top of the cabinet or should I leave it bare?

  • PRO

Here is your “before” and “after”. No don’t put anything on top. I would change out the wall hangings for perhaps some art pieces.

What style would you call the Decour in my hutch?

Thanks for the before and after pic.
