Thermador customer service is TERRIBLE

last modified: 6 years ago

I am starting this thread to warn people about the terrible experience I have had with Thermador appliances. I have their top of the line Freedom induction cooktop and the HMIB42WS 42" island hood that is supposed to communicate with the cooktop.

I had some trouble getting everything connected to the network and getting the appliances talking to each other at first, but they have been working pretty reliably for months. Then last week it got ugly. The connectivity just stopped working.

All Thermador connected apps go through Home Connect, and depending on where you look Thermador lists a few different 24/7 Home Connect phone numbers. But whichever number you call, you will go to the same call center where the agents are clueless about how any of this stuff works and they will swear on their first-born that someone will call you back. It doesn't happen. No matter how many times you call, or how many times they promise, nobody will ever call you back.

Similarly, they have at least two Home Connect email addresses that I have found and nobody responds to either email address.

In desperation I called the semi-local official Bosch/Thermador showroom where I spoke to someone who personally promised she would call me back. And of course she didn't call me back either.

So that's a $9000+ investment that doesn't work right and there is ZERO customer service. I thought Whirlpool customer service was bad (it is awful) but this is a freaking nightmare.

For comparison, I have had incredible customer service from Miele, Sub Zero, Kohler, Hansgrohe and Robern. If they charge a premium for their products, it is well worth it. I say that so you know I'm not someone who likes to complain about everything because I get a kick out of it. But I think if anyone is considering Thermador or Bosch, and especially one of their connected appliances, you should think twice. They don't work reliably and technical support is non-existent.

I will never buy another Thermador (or Bosch) appliance.

Ugh, I remember the other thread from this poster about Whirlpool connectivity, with the identical problem, the identical overreaction, identical overlong OP replies, identical trying to skewer every response that asked for reasonableness. That thread was all self-indulgence from the OP. If you read the other thread, that will be 20 minutes of your life you will never get back. It's starting over on this one, same thing. Good people of Houzz, spare yourselves.

What isn't reasonable is being OK with top-of-the-line appliances that don't work right. What is reasonable is to expect them to work right, and expecting some decent level of customer service. Most of the people disagreeing with me in that thread were along the same lines: "Don't expect connected appliances to work as advertised". What a load of BS from people who are happy with products that don't function properly.

Anyway, I'm glad that thread has been mentioned because it has only gotten worse with the Whirlpool and it's time for me to post an update in that thread! :-)

USC, I don't have any of these Thermador products and my 48" Wolf has no connectivity option, so I have a question for you. What do you use the connectivity feature for? What exactly is it supposed to do? I'm a bit of a technology luddite when it comes to buying new stuff, but I'm always interested in learning what is out there.

There are lots of cool things connected appliances enable you to do. In this case, my favorite thing is that the hood operates automatically when paired to the cookop. When you turn on the cooktop, the work lights on the hood automatically come on. And the hood operates automatically, it knows how hot the cooktop is and comes on as needed then sets itself to the appropriate power level (adjusting as necessary), without any guesswork from me. A lot of the time it doesn't come on because it is not needed. If not for this I might not think about turning on my hood on until it's already smoky (too late), or I might turn it on to the highest level every time I cook just to be on the safe side. This way I don't have to think about it and don't have to deal with the noise unless necessary.

Another feature lets me set timers on the cooktop and get notifications on my phone when a timer has expired. Or I can check my phone to see how much time is left. The phone will also tell me if there have been any firmware updates to my appliances (over the air updates would be impossible if not connected) and if there have been any errors.

Aesthetically, I'd have preferred a Miele hood because it matches my other appliances better and just looks nicer. But I bought the Thermador hood even though it was significantly more expensive, and doesn't look as nice, specifically for the connectivity with my cooktop. So you better believe I expect these things to work. Same as you would expect an options package on your car to work. I don't like to pay for things I can't use and I'm pretty sure I'm not in the minority here. I shake my head and laugh every time someone says I shouldn't expect these things to work or I shouldn't be disappointed when they don't. Yeah right. Easy to say when it's not your problem.

Well, I bought a Range Rover knowing the connectivity was sub par! But I can wade in 36" of water and climb steep mud hills!

USC, have you tried posting on Thermador/Bosch's facebook, Instagram and twitter? People seem to have better response from manufacturers going through those channels.

Apologies if I seem defensive but these people that think I should be okay with the problems trigger me. LOL I do hope that this information helps people because the only reason I take time to share this information is to help others.

Thanks for sharing. We have the Freedom on order (to be delivered at the end of Feb) and my husband was really wanting the connectivity. I switched out the Therm hood for a Ventahood because the Therm ones can be so loud and they bother my tinnitus. Husband was disappointed but I will share this with him.

I loved it when it was working. In fact, I often showed off to guests how the hood turns itself on when the cooktop is turned on. It's very cool.

But then when it stops working and you waste hours trying to fix it, then the company ignores you, well that is super frustrating and you start to have regrets. And it makes you want to share the experience to warn people ;-)

You will love the Freedom induction, it is as good as advertised. My favorite function can be finicky, and the user interface & documentation are inexplicably bad, but these are things you adjust to and can live with. I've been very happy with it until last week. However, I'm now worried that if I have more problems with the cooktop Thermador still won't properly support the product and I'll be SOL.

I don't think companies like Thermador and Whirlpool realize how much of a difference it makes when they provide excellent service vs giving you the run around. I mentioned some companies above that provide amazing service. I'd recommend those to anyone who asks for my advice and would go back to those brands again. But I'll tell anyone who asks to steer clear of Whirlpool and Thermador. It's just not worth the headache when something doesn't work right. The Whirlpool is an especially sore subject because they didn't work right from the start and have only gotten worse.

BTW @Shannon_WI - Disingenuous to link the Whirlpool thread as "Thread called Terrible Experience with Whirlpool (because of an app not working)" because that is not what the thread is called and the problems are with the machines and not just because of an app not working. If anyone is considering Whirlpool the other thread will let you know what you're buying into.

    Thank you for the warning.

I agree it's too soon. Its still the Wild West with home automation. Manufacturers need to make sure they can change out "brains" easily. Probably something the size and complexity of Alexa/Google Mini making your life miserable.

I have had great experiences with Thermador over the past 16-18 years, but zero experience with their technology. When they rolled out their refer & freezer columns in 05/06 they sent a rep to train installers on my project. The latest in '16 was a three column combination. Zero complaints regarding their ranges, refers etc. over the same period. Most clients still ordering Bosch unless they're matching something.

Try calling the main Thermador service lines to keep this on the front burner.

Side note.... just got back from IBS/KBIS (International Builders Show & Kitchen Bath Industry Show) and was overwhelmed with great new products....

Kohler had a sensor opening toilet. Very cool, but will it tell my 14 year old "Flush it, Dude!"

KBIS is great. I usually go when it is in Vegas but I couldn't make it this year and the next 2-3 years it's in Florida so I won't be back for a while. I don't know why people are making such a big deal about the Kohler Numi v2. I am planning to get a v1 because as far as I know the only real difference between the old and new models is the addition of Alexa. I'm hoping the v2 means v1 price will come down. But auto opening toilets are nothing new, Toto and Kohler have been making them for years and I bet there are some bolt-on bidets with the feature too.

Good for you for going to the show, nobody who has ever worked on my house has heard of KBIS or would even care to go if they knew about it.

Small update on Thermador. After I called again and pointed out I had been waiting over a week just to have someone call me back, I got transferred to someone with a little more authority who immediately scheduled a service call. I didn't think a service call is what I needed because I didn't think a repair guy was going to be the best person to figure out a connectivity issue, but I wasn't going to turn it down.

I was right, he showed up and had zero clue about anything related to Home Connect, and what he thought he knew was wrong. BUT he called a guy that was expert on this and put him on speaker. Then that guy called another guy who sounded like he might be the top Home Connect guy. Those two knew what they were talking about and we very rapidly did a bunch of troubleshooting. They appreciated that they didn't have to hold my hand so we were able to try a bunch of stuff that they may not have tried with someone not as technically proficient.

They think the Wi-Fi controller in my cooktop failed which is extremely unusual. They said of all the connected appliances they have shipped, they can only recall needing to replace this part one time. Lucky me :-/ They ordered the part and I have an appointment in a couple of weeks to replace it. So hopefully this story will have a happy ending.

BUUUUUT they need to provide much better support for connected devices and they know it. Doesn't mean they will do anything about it though. And it doesn't excuse the run around I got. But as bad as the experience was, it's infinitely better than Whirlpool where I still haven't spoken to anyone who knows anything about connected appliances other than is what is on their script. Blech.

    last modified: 6 years ago

Just to update, the new wifi controller didn't fix anything. They know I have multiple issues, which I have documented in great detail for them. But it is weeks later and they have no answers and no timeline.

Also, even though I now have contact information for someone in Home Connect, he really hasn't been able to shed any light on the situation and doesn't respond to most emails.

I'm at my wits' end, they either need to fix these appliances or replace them. Cooktop and hood combo cost nearly $10K after tax and installation so I am pretty heated at the lack of action. I'll say it again, avoid Thermador if you care about customer service, and avoid their connected devices if you want those features to work. Read the reviews for their mobile app if you need more verification.

I'll update if there are any developments.

Wow, uscpsycho, like you I'd be steamed after tossing all that $$$ at Thermador and then getting such a ridiculous run-around.

Long gone are the days when one appliance company advertised itself as "Service - our most important product."

UGh... I just mins ago posted about a horrible experience I'm having with BSH (Owners of Thermador) for our thermador fridge... looking at your experience and seeing how similar it is to mine and others I've read...it seems this is their standard operating procedure. Are they hoping to just beat us down until we go away?! I've been calling and emailing and begging BSH to respond with their so-called pro-rated buy back offer for my 8 year old dead fridge and can't get them to reply. That buy-back is total Bull too, I was told to get the $ amount I had to first pick which new BSH-made fridge I wanted to buy. So it's not a buy-back it's a discount on a new one of their appliances. I'm so frustrated...I've been at this since January this year (2020)!

@Jennifer Golden, your other post disappeared. Just when I tried to respond to you with some information on Dacor.

I think, Houzz is having some technical difficulties today. I have seen other threads disappear and reappear...

    last modified: 6 years ago

Yeah, BSH is totally culpable in my situation and not surprised by the headaches Jennifer has. I don't have first hand experience with that particular line but since they own Thermador I would never buy BSH appliances.

We invest in these big expensive appliances that we install in our kitchen (or laundry room, etc.). Only when something goes wrong do we appreciate companies that offer true customer serivce.

I have discussed this elsewhere on Houzz, but I had a problem with a Subzero freezer column. SZ offered to buy back both my fridge and freezer columns or replace them with the latest models. I considered the buy back and switching to another brand but after doing my due diligence, it didn't take long to realize I'd be bat sh*t crazy to change brands.

I'm not going to wait too much longer before I consider legal action against BSH/Thermador. If they won't stand behind their products and honor my warranty I'm sure a judge can convince them to. Given the dollar amount involved I do not have a lot of patience for this kind of crap.

I will continue to update as things develop.

@M thanks, it seems to be gone completely. Not to derail this thread, but I suspect I know what you were going to say about Dacor - they are now owned by Samsung which has a horrible lifespan/cust svc reputation. Since it is the the most expensive fridge I'm looking at (and damn is it gorgeous) I think I'll drop it from my list. I had dropped SubZero because it looked so plastic and cheap compared to the stainless steel interiors. But at the end of the day we're selling this house in 5-7 years and in the neighborhood I'm in it's all about name in the kitchen so we'll probably go with SubZero. BTW, received an email from SBH this morning stating they were sorry for the delay in getting my buy back amount to me but it would about another 72 hours. What I did not mention in my larger post (that's now missing) is that they had originally offered the buy back or repair. We opted for repair which, as you know, has gone horrible wrong and we're at back now.

Just an side comment. The hood automatically turning itself on when the stove is on and/or heat is detected, is a safety hazard. If you have a pan or oven fire, the exhaust will suck up the flames. I purposely did not buy an exhaust hood with this feature because of safety concerns.

Jennifer - When I was considering going with a different fridge, Dacor was top of list. But Dacor customer service was known to be bad before Samsung bought them and somehow got worse after. I know if I buy anything from Samsung and it goes bad, the path forward is replacing it at my cost (this is true for most electronics companies). Dacor reliability was also very bad before Samsung, I don't know if that has improved since but I would hope so.

If you buy a fridge and something goes wrong, it's most likely going to happen in the 5 years that you own it and it is going to end up being your headache, not the next owner's. Dacor fridge and freezer have some really cool features but when I asked about them, their reputation here on Houzz is not good so I steered clear. I am so thankful for this community that shares their experiences to help us learn.

@uscpsycho thanks for the affirmation. Def steering clear of them.

Y'all....I have to share. BSH (Owners of Thermadore, Bosch, Gaggenau) just called this morning to offer almost half off a new fridge/freezer column in their Gaggenau line to replace my only 8 year old DEAD Thermadore fridge/freezer. I am blown away by the offer....Offer includes half off of the stainless steel panels (which have to be purchased separately) as well as half off teh door handles. Mind you this has taken since January of this year (2020) to now (March) to get to this point but FINALLY. Now, I'm finding it very difficult to find companies that will do an install only. :( I have to pay BSH directly for the items and they will drop ship them to my home.

Half-off seems a common number quoted in this situation. Not every manufacturer cares enough about their customers that they would make an offer. But the ones that do, usually seem to prefer the half-off number.

I agree with you. That's a fair deal. I have been in similar situations before with entirely different products from entirely different companies, and each an every time, I decided to accept the offer.

My philosophy in life has always been: "Mistakes happen. As long as there isn't a pattern of repeated uncorrected mistakes, I won't hold it against the other party. But what I do hold them to is how they handle correcting their mistakes."

As far as your question about installation is concerned, that's indeed a challenge. If you already have a great relationship with a family-owned local appliance store, things are probably easier. But lacking that, I can understand the reluctance of service companies wanting to help you out.

When we ordered our appliances, my general contractor who never shies away from a job was very clear. He told me in unambiguous terms that he absolutely would not install our refrigerator. It's more difficult than it looks. And with high-end appliances, there is a lot more that can go wrong than most people think. You really want to give the job to somebody who does this type of work every day.

@M agreed on the making-good front. I'm pleased. RE: install... ::SIGH:: on to the next challenge :)

half off is probably their cost. It IS an 8 yo appliance. 8 is probably short life, but last forever appliances are hard to find as they just aren't on/off anymore

    last modified: 6 years ago

Half-off is unlikely to be their average cost, but it might very well be their marginal cost. And that's fine by me. It's still a fair deal.

for an 8 yo machine it is a pretty good deal. They aren't going to sell it at a loss they would add in whatever they had to - warehouse, service, accounting etc

This situation has gone from bad to worse.

Not only did the connectivity issue not get resolved after the last service call, I later noticed that the cooktop was not reassembled correctly. So I requested another service call that was scheduled for 4/14. I arranged my schedule that week around this appointment but in the morning the technician called to tell me the appointment was canceled and rescheduled for 5/5 (today). Very frustrating to have a cancellation at the last minute, especially when they called me the day before to confirm it.

This time I didn't take any chances. I called on 5/1 to ensure that my appointment would not be canceled. Then I called again on 5/4, the day before, to confirm. I was told the technician would arrive between 8am-12pm. At 11:30am I became concerned they wouldn't show up so I called and was told that the appointment was AGAIN canceled and this time with NO notification at all. Now I'm rescheduled for 6/2. After wasting two days on these guys I was livid, and all they could muster was "sorry" which I interpret as "TOUGH SH*T SUCKA!!!!" And that was from a "supervisor" who honestly could not have cared less about what they did. Meanwhile my Thermador appliances haven't worked properly for most of this year.

I will take every precaution to make sure I don't waste my time again on 6/2 and I am certain they will cancel yet again. I mean, I'm not sure what more I can do beyond calling the day before and confirming the appointment time.

I cannot stress this enough people, avoid Thermador and any BSH brand like the plague. They do not care about customers, they do not care about customer experience, they do not properly support their products and their technicians are incapable of repairing their own appliances. It's not worth the headache when something goes wrong. Invest your money in a company that will take care of you when things go wrong. BSH is not it.

Will update again when there is an update.

OK, so this story has a decent ending.

This was eventually escalated to corporate. They determined that the issues I have cannot be resolved so they offered to buy back my appliances or give me $750 compensation to keep them. I asked if I could have a third option to wait/hope or have my appliances replaced. They rejected that.

I asked them if this no-fix option means that the issues are not fixable and if I would have the same problem even if I replaced the appliances. They said that there aren't a lot of people who have this combination so they can't say whether this is a pervasive problem or not. I would think if Thermador was confident it could work as advertised they would offer to replace my appliances instead of buying them back, reimbursing me for my installation cost and having to send techs to un-install. That has to be a big net loss for them. The fact that Thermador wouldn't replace them should make you think twice about this combo if you care about the connectivity.

The cooktop is great, I do not want to give that up. I have no attachment to the hood if the communication isn't working, but I had to make significant modifications to my duct and ceiling for this hood. Installing a different model is going to be a headache and I still won't have the connectivity so I accepted the $750 compensation. I asked them to also extend my warranty and they agreed to extend the factory warranty on both appliances by 18 months.

They didn't cancel the last appointment (third time's a charm) and fixed the issue with the cooktop not being reassembled correctly.

In the end, it took several months but I did get a resolution. Unfortunately the resolution wasn't getting things to work right but at least all that frustration wasn't for nothing.

One last note, initially I had a hell of a time getting support with my connectivity problem. I recently contacted them for an unrelated issue with their app. Someone promptly responded via email and then I got a phone call shortly after that. The person who called did not seem very knowledgeable, more of a go-between with the techs, but this is a huge improvement.

So that's the end of the story. And that leaves Whirlpool as the only turd when it comes to customer service for appliances and plumbing.

I have been waiting for over two months to get a simple starter replaced in my oven - which is under warantee. Thermador has cancelled our order three times for no reason that we can understand. We have been without an oven and I can't figure out how to elevate this beyond the customer service fortress keeps cancelling out the work-orders. Tell me how!!! I've had it. Thermador's customer service is the WORST!!!!!!!

The pandemic and the disrupted shipping lines are really frustrating at times. I have an order that I placed before the start of the pandemic; it's with a vendor who I have worked with many times, who I trust, and who I am in contact with the entire time. Even almost 2 years later, they can't tell me when they can get it to me. So, yeah, not surprised that other companies are struggling as well.

@Anne Swett-Predock, I'm interested to know the part number of your need to check whether I can find it at any of the numerous online parts sources.

I don't have a part number, just the order number from thermador's ordering department who was going to send the part to a local repair person to come over and fix.

If it's really just something as simple as a glow bar igniter, there are bound to be a ton a compatible third party parts. And your service company shouldn't have any problem finding one. You can probably even look up the part number online.

But that's all rather unsatisfactory during the warranty period. I can understand why you want the OEM part and why you want the manufacturer to pay. On the other hand, I can also understand why manufacturers are currently struggling to source their own OEM parts. It's a tough situation to be in.

The model number of the oven then, to look up the item via parts diagrams ...

Yes - it is a glow bar igniter. :-) At this point, I think it should be the company I bought it from (Snyder Diamond) and Thermador to work together to get it fixed and save me the hours I have spent on hold waiting for someone to help me, tracking down vendors, or wasting any more time on this - Especially since it is still under warranty. I wonder if I should I ask for an extension on the warranty since its been out of commission for so long. I mainly want someone at Thermador to acknowledge my issue, follow up with me, and help me fix it. It seems like there is no accountability whatsoever and no recourse for me to take. I have no idea how to get beyond the customer service whitewash.

Anne - I feel your pain. I am the person who originally started this thread. I totally know what you mean about the "customer service fortress." That was the most frustrating thing for me. But I did eventually get past it.

I also bought my appliances from Snyder Diamond and they have been very supportive with any product issues I've had. Do they know about this? I'm sure they would step in to help you but my guess is that these delays and cancellations are simply due to the unavailability of parts and not because they are trying to blow you off.

But the main reason I am responding is to tell you that you absolutely should ask for them to extend your warranty. At the end of my ordeal I asked for a warranty extension and they gave me a generous one. And it is an extension of the original factory warranty, not the third party company that sells Thermador extended warranties (they will start barraging you with mailed solicitations). The person I was in communication with from Thermador told me the third party warranty is far inferior to the factory warranty and she was happy to offer me the added protection.

Customer Service with Thermador is horrible; our refrigerator stop working and trying to get a simple advise is unattainable. Thermador’s personnel in customer service don’t have the minimum understanding of products and no technical people available to speak with you.

Thermador customer service is horrible. I have waited on hold for over two hours at times and just end up hanging up.

I really don’t understand how they can even be in business.

Thermador customer service is beyond horrible. Have couple years old freezer (paid more than $7000). It stopped working. Called customer support and get technician appointment in two months. Guy showed up and said that he doesn’t have the part to fix the problem. Promised to order it. I paid for his visit. He came again after another two months and asked if I have the part. Obviously, I didn’t have it and reminded him that he is supposed to order it. His reply: “I don’t have it and it’s not my responsibility to have it”. I called to Thermador after his visit and spent few hours waiting on the phone without any result. Unbelievable experience. Hope it helps other folks to make decision about buying any product from Thermador.

Complete agree. They are going on year 2 for a bacteria ridden ice maker system. DON'T BUY OONE

First, the defrost pan on my 6 year old freezer failed. I couldn't get anyone to give me service on it so I called to ask what the resistance should be on the 2 different heaters. That was when I was told they do not offer diagnostic help via the phone. I explained I wanted the specification not help diagnosing but I was told no help over the phone and then disconnected. I finally tested and realized which one was not working. Got on the Thermador parts site and ordered the parts which they had in stock (I was pleasantly surprised). I ordered the parts and they offered two day shipping so I paid the $17.00 for the two day shipping. After receiving the tracking information, I checked the shipment status on Wednesday. It shipped on Monday and was scheduled to arrive the following Monday but it was now going to arrive early on Friday.... I should have received the parts on Wednesday. I called customer service and explained my disappointment and asked for reimbursement of the $17.00 charge for two day shipping. First I was told they could not reimburse me and I asked why they couldn't since I didn't receive it? Then I was told I had to file a claim with the shipping company. When asked how they would reimburse me for something I paid to Thermador, I was transferred to another department that deals with builders(?). She explained she could not do anything but submitted it to management for review and follow-up. I received a call Friday stating they could not reimburse me for shipping charges with no explanation other than when they shipped it on Monday it was after the cut off time for the two day shipping (Is this my fault?). I paid for this with a credit card so I submitted a dispute with them and within 15 minutes of filing the dispute I received a credit of $17.00. I don't think I will utilize Thermador directly for anything else should the need arise. It leaves me to wonder what would have happened if I didn't receive all of the parts? Would I have been refunded for the parts not actually shipped?

My terrible Thermador experience mirrors others here. Customer service is awful, wait times are regularly over 45 minutes and then you learn you can get more help from the hold music than from any of the Thermador reps. I'd purchased a Thermador refrigerator/range/dishwasher, all are junk (especially considering the price), recently the fridge started freezing while the freezer got warm, Thermador repair said it was an easy fix, ordered a part, except it turned out they ordered the WRONG part, then they ordered the WRONG part a second time, one repair appointment was cancelled without even notifying me (I found out when the repairperson didn't show up), and after months of follies, my fridge is still broken and Thermador has held me up for $650 in "repair" costs. Their own repairperson said his company was garbage, that the service software is dated, no one knows which parts are being ordered or if they've even shipped, he said he'd repeatedly show up at homes and learn that Thermador had sent the wrong part. Still, he wouldn't leave my house without collecting an additional $350 for his third visit, during which he again didn't have the correct part and didn't actually repair anything. And now Thermador CS is dragging their feet even addressing any of this, requesting all kinds of documentation, original sales receipts, etc., just wasting more and more time. I'm now getting rid of everything Thermador in my house, that's my happy ending.

"Dan R: I'm not getting rid of everything Thermador in my house, that's my happy ending."

Did you perhaps intend to say that you're now getting rid of everything Thermador?

Spent an inordinate amount for " high end " Thermador built in refrigerator, gourmet oven and dishwasher when I had a professional kitchen remodel done in fall of 2022. In less than a year I had 1 oven repair and 3 refrigerator repairs. The last refrigerator repair left me without a refrigerator for over 3 weeks because first, parts were not available, then faulty parts delivered to the repair company then finally after much coordination with the customer service at Thermador got an "overnight delivery" ( that took 3 days ). As I write this review, I am having to place another call for the loud racket being made by the refrigerator. I regret that I was unable to order Subzero which is the brand that is by far superior but due to Covid production delays and the timing on my kitchen remodel, I purchased the Thermador brand after hearing how reliable it was from my luxury appliance sales person. Bottom line, do not trust this brand or even contemplate buying.

This is why you shouldn’t buy an entire suite from one brand.

The best refrigeration, with the best customer service is Sub Zero. Eight years, and not one issue with our 42” FD SZ fridge. Our first SZ was still going strong at 26yo, when we sold that home in 2015. Well worth the $$$.

Our Miele double ovens (one a CombiSteam), also 8yo, have performed flawlessly.

Bosch 800 dishwasher, one repair for a leaky hose. Recommended repairman by the independant appliance store we purchased all appliances from, came within a few days. Fixed problem.

Thermador 36” gas rangetop. No issues in 8 years.

We paired the rangetop with a 42” Vent A Hood. Again, no issues. Does all it should, and is very, very quiet…even on high.

I have had to call Thermodore support twice for same issue. Dishwasher wont allow any setting set other than NORMAL. For a $2,000 Piece of CRAP.

Support is absolutely NON-EXISTENT. The people manning the phones have ZERO knowledge of the most routine issues like "HOW TO RESET".

This POS constantly messes up and will only allow NORMAL cycle which is 1 hr 20 mins.!

Press the QUICK wash button and the NORMAL cycle light illuminates. Power it off then on and press the QUICK button and NORMAL lights up.

Apparently, support said "You have to Reset the unit"

    HOW MANY TIMES DO

This GARBAGE RIP-OFF over-priced hunk of junk DW costs $2,000 in best buy may 2024 and I would put it up against ANY LG, GE ANY DAY ALL DAY EVERYDAY.! I am glad I didnt buy it and it was given to me by neighbor still in the crate.

This is an ongoing issue with this Thermador Piece of garbage

Anyone thinking of buying ANY Thermador product BEWARE, you have been warned.

Thermador is horrible . I always wanted “top of the line appliances “ I made a big investment and am so disappointed.
    Wine cabinet 4000.
    Fridge 16000.
    dishwasjer 2,000.
Induction stove I think around 7,000
    And steam oven around 11,000
I feel so stupid for purchasing these. I would NEVER do this again.
Oven had mother board replaced 2x
Fridge- compressor went out (1000.00 fix)
My old cheap dishwasher at least dried my dishes but the worst part is the home connect .
Every time you call you are waiting at least 20 min. 60 % of the folks that answer don’t know anything and those that do cant help anyway. they have to get IT to call back and they never do. i am beyond frustrated. Home connect cant get it together
