I would put a bold abstract, such as Yellow-Red-Blue by Kandinsky to liven up the gray on the floors, and the cabinets, and the chairs. Klee also has some wonderful works.

You can go either way, art or a mirror.

I have a rather large rectangular mirror in an important frame in my dining area placed vertically over a buffet which reflects the flowers, attractive guests and food, and table setting.

Since you have a lot of straight lines and rectangles in that area, if you want a mirror, think about one with curves such as a starburst mirror, or a Venetian mirror with a curved frame.

I would also think carefully about what you have on your shelves in the dining area.

Only put behind glass doors what looks attractive and is displayed attractively.
