lighting dilemma

Dear All,

I have a new space (co-op in NYC area, unit is several floors up) that I am struggling to decide how to light. The ceilings are low (8 ft) and are concrete. I have attached a pre renovation photo of the living room space. Room is 11.5 feet wide. The wall on left is shared with bedroom and is 20 feet long. Wall on right is shared with neighbor and is about 30 feet back to entry door.

How would you light this space ? We will have our large sectional, a TV and small desk. I can’t put lights in the ceiling given the concrete, and I am struggling to convince my wife to go with either a small soffit at running perimeter of walls (so like a U shape with apex at window) or track lights.
