You should have asked the produce manager at the Asian market where you purchased them.

Looks like a mandarin to me...or maybe a mandarin hybrid. Mandarins come in many, many varieties and all sizes. From 1 inch to 4 inches. They vary not only in size, but in time of ripening, flavor, peelability, number of seeds, etc.

Mandarins include the tangerines (some think they are hybrids with pomelo), the satsumas, Pixie, Kishu, Gold series out of California, Clementines, Clementine hybrids, and hybrids with sweet orange (a Tangor) such as Page, or with grapefruit/pomelo (a Tangelo) such as Honeybelle, + hybrids again crossed with something else! So you see, it gets complicated.

Yours could possibly be Murcott (maybe a Tangor), W. Murcott Afourer (Tangor), California Honey, Kinnow, maybe Tango. You should ask the grocer where they were grown. California? Try to find a shipping box label to see the company, then call the company/packer and find out what they are shipping this time of year and from where.

You'll have to do some detective work on your own. I don't think anyone here could possibly ID it 100%.

Yea I was looking some up last night. I'm thinking it could be Kishu. They are sweet with one seed per fruit. The owner gets them in from Asia/South FL but doesn't know the names lol.. I know not helpful. I'll keep looking around. Thanks for stoppin by!

Kishus are really good, typically seedless, but quite small...probably no bigger than 2 inches?
