I came back on here a month+ ago to see whether anyone were experiencing issues with their Capital range. I know repair has been a problem folks comment on periodically, and attention from the factory is uneven to say the least. As far as I can tell it's been the personalized attention from Trevor Lawson of Eurostoves in MA that made all the difference. But Trevor seems to have had family issues, to have moved south and maybe to be around a little bit less? But really not of as old. And ... well, my efforts to fix my oven for some 5 weeks now have not really gone anywhere. TBH that the oven needs any attention at all doesn't really make me very happy. I don't think the machine is old enough that there should be any issue. *sigh*.

After calling a dozen or more times to the factory, usually getting not a single live human being anywhere on the phone tree, I am finally being shipped - all of 10 miles - a part, maybe. An expensive part at retail for a machine that's less than 10 years old. I don't know, maybe ovens somehow have a wear-out-by date, but I really didn't think so; feel free to disabuse me on this.

This is a note to folks that this offbrand industrial range may be a relatively good deal if you're very handy and can fix it easily yourself and if Trevor is still available. But shy of any of those things, IMHO it's a dicey deal to go with it now. I like that we've had the machine, but it's always, still, got its problems all along - hard-to-set burners, uneven oven, very hard-to-move oven racks. The stove puts out heat for sure, and it's great for that. What it does it does well though I don't know the range of competition out there. But I'm disappointed, overall, in the repair history of the machine and for that kind of money, think it should all have taken less pampering. Not the biggest mistake of my life to be sure. But a slightly painful one.... Hope Trevor is well wherever he may be....
