You can always find pruning group info on Clematis on the Web. Samaritan Jo and Giselle are hard prune/type 3's; Bernadine is a type 2. Josephine is best in sun as it will sometimes develop off color tepals (green) if in much shade.

It is always important to consider the source when gathering information :-) COTW is the definitive online source for accurate clematis info. I wouldn't bother with any other, including many of the specialty nurseries.....they don't always get it right, either.

One more question. I have a mrs. Robert brydon that I have had for 2 years , I believe, and it have never bloomed. If it doesn't bloom this year, should I move it? It does get sun, but not all day, and not direct. I am a complete noob ,so thanks for the help. I stuck this and a few others in the ground. I may dig them all up. I don't think I did their holes as good as I should have, now that I am reading up on them more and got so many otdered. I should have dug deep and amended it better.
