I removed the outdoor unit's side cover that wraps around the condenser fins and Man this improved the efficiency so much especially with the sunlight directly on the condenser fins (for heating).

But without the shroud, the weight of the fan (outdoor unit fan) is now sitting on the condenser tube/fins made of aluminum instead of sitting on the side shroud/cover originally.

Anybody know how much vertical weight aluminum tube/fins can withstand? I think the fan+top cover only weighs about 10-20 pounds. But I wanna be extra careful.
