We have exactly this configuration. A 36" all-fridge SubZero column, and two sets of 24" Perlick freezer drawers. It was the most obvious solution for our kitchen. We have a galley kitchen and right outside of the main kitchen there is an island that is perpendicular to the galley. The island houses the two freezers. Couldn't be happier. That configuration is super functional.

We decided on Perlick, as they have a little more usable space than SubZero. The downside is that they are a little noisier than SubZero, which is practically inaudible. Also, we decided that we didn't want an ice maker in our freezer drawers. That just uses way too much valuable space. Instead, we have another cheap freezer downstairs, and that one makes ice for us. Every so often, we bring some of the ice up here and store it in the drawers.

The overall capacity is good. In fact, it is borderline too big. With drawers, I feel it is harder to "lose" things in the freezer. But I already notice that we occasionally have items in there that should be cleared out, but we simply forgot about them. Not sure if a single set of drawers would have worked for us. But two sets are definitely good for a family of four.

All of the above completely ignores price. This is not a cheap solution at all. But if it uniquely fits the needs of your kitchen, then it can be the way to go.
